Success! 🏅 This morning, the Naughty Cat crossed the finish line without injury but with a surprise finish of 12th place amongst over 400 human runners, even winning his age group. But what’s more impressive is your generosity and support, raising almost $6k for our partner shelter Humane Educational Society. If you’re inspired by this fast cat, then be quick and donate before 5pm EST today: https://pledgeit.org/fast-fur-ious-5k-for-cats
It’s ONE WEEK until race day and the Naughty Cat has been training hard! We are over halfway to our fundraising goal of $8,000 for the Humane Educational Society. Help us reach our goal so they can purchase oxygen machines to use in surgery. Donate meow: https://pledgeit.org/fast-fur-ious-5k-for-cats
Could you do it? Can HE do it? In the dark?
The Naughty Cat will be running in a 5k to raise money for our partner shelter, @Humane Educational Society. This money will be used to buy oxygen concentrators to use in surgeries.
The Naughty Cat is going to attempt to run its first ever 5k race, starting in the dark, wearing the cat head the whole time! While it’s not guaranteed the Naughty Cat will be able to finish under these circumstances, what is guaranteed is with your support, he will give his best effort to help purchase these machines.
There are two ways you can choose to donate (https://pledgeit.org/fast-fur-ious-5k-for-cats):
1) A pledge amount applied to each of his 3 goals. You will only be charged for the goals the Naughty Cat actually achieves. For example, if you pledge $10, that is $10 per goal for a total of $30 if all three are completed. If only one goal is achieved, you would only be charged $10.
GOALS:
- Finish the race
- Complete the race without falling (remember the race is in the dark while wearing a giant cat head)
- Finish the race in the top 20%
OR
2) You can donate a flat amount any time!
Help us reach our $8,000 goal!

If you don't know, now you know!
This Labor Day weekend is meant to be one of the biggest ones for the cats, so we have to get a little old school in order to stay open.
THANK YOU for all of your amazing support and creative solutions!
We have removed the ‘30 Cats Inside’ sign for the time being so that we are in compliance. With your help, we have identified a potential solution.
We have asked the city to come out next week to review our plan, so watch this space. Paws crossed the city is willing to work with us. The cats appreciate each and every one of you!
Today is a very sad day for our community and for the cats. Five years ago, we opened Naughty Cat Cafe because we realized that there was a real problem finding homes for the cats in our local shelters. The two of us, as concerned citizens, took out a $100k mortgage on our home to get the money to create something this community needed but did not have. We have come to our mom-and-pop shop seven days a week to help support the animals in our community. We have never asked for any special treatment or handouts. We simply asked for a safe space for us to thrive and add value.
Today the city came to roll back that safe space and made the struggle to find homes for these animals that much harder. For 5 years, this homemade sign has sat in front of our business and has been responsible for bringing an unfathomable amount of people in our door to not only help support these homeless animals, but this woman-owned small business whose purpose is well beyond profit. Today the City of Chattanooga told us this sign was illegal and must be removed immediately. City politicians are constantly touting that this city supports and empowers small businesses, entrepreneurs and people trying to give back. As two people have given all, risked everything, and gone all-in trying to be a part of the solution, we must say that these words and their deeds do not match.
The point of this post is not to mobilize people to take action by calling or writing bureaucrats and politicians. At Naughty Cat we don’t play politics. We save lives and today saving lives just got a lot harder, thanks to the city we live and work in everyday to support.
But don’t worry. With the Naughty Cat Nation behind us we will continue to be a part of the solution and not part of the problem.
🚨 HELP! 🚨
The Naughty Cat has been arrested for partying too hard celebrating our 1,000th adoption!
He has been charged with possession of catnip with intent to distribute and will be locked away until we can post his bail. He needs to be back to the cafe on Monday morning, so we have to raise $4,000 in the next 48 hours!
All the bail money raised will be shared with our partner shelters so they can prepare the next 1,000 rescue cats to be Naughty cats at the cafe.
You can help post bail several ways:
Credit/Debit Card: https://square.link/u/c52YTIFT
PayPal: paypal.me/NaughtyCatCafe
Venmo: NaughtyCatCafe
*Many thanks to the Chattanooga Police Department!*
Look what you have done now! Because of your support we have been able to find homes for 1,000 rescue cats in just 877 days.
Our 1,000th adoption could not be a more perfect example of a Naughty Cat - hoarded, adopted, returned, and survived cancer. Thanks solely to your support, Chowder and 999 other cats have a safe and loving forever home.
Now let’s get back to work saving the next 1,000! Take time today to celebrate being part of something amazing. 🎉 Adoption #1,000
Thank you to Christina and Morgan Melia for sponsoring his adoption and for Karen and Chuck Harden for sending him home with a tub of his favorite Churu treats!
