Foster Report

GOOD GRIEF, where in the world is this awesome dog's forever home? Angel is just that, an angel. She would make a great first family pet. I would suggest an energetic family with school age kids. Her qualities outweigh any negatives she might display. Really, her negatives would be remedied with consistancy and being settled into a family. She would thrive once established in a permanent home. She loves activity and is so affectionate and SWEET. She wants to be WITH you. She is good with the cat, albeit is learning her limits but can leave the cat alone and be focused on something else. Being a hound, she is easily distracted during potty time by sounds and sites and smells but we are gaining bounds with treats and patience. At just one year, she is still pretty much a puppy but full grown and in my opinion, the perfect size for traveling to outings and outdoor adventures.
She has the squishiest cheeks that she doesn't mind being kissed and will kiss in return (see photos). I would hate for this girl to go back to HES and lose the quick strides she is making. Once she bonds with you, she is protective of you with a good growl and nice loud barks at appropriate threats (not birds/squirrles, but strangers), but otherwise is not vocal.
She doesn't like the crate particularly but does sleep well in there all night long with no whining or barking.
Someone is missing out on the jackpot of this girl

Have you ever thought about fostering? Or heard the term and wondered exactly what it meant?

Fostering means you house a homeless animal temporarily while we provide everything you need! You try to promote your foster for adoption and get them socialized and healthy no expense to you. Short term commitment and flexibility.

Afraid you wouldn't be able to give them up, but cannot have another animal? Just remember that good-bye is the goal. When you free up your home for another foster, that frees up kennel space at the shelter. You are saving lives! We cannot stress how important foster homes are! Saying good-bye to one animal means saying hello to another.

We are especially in need of dog fosters without other dogs and puppy fosters.

If you can't adopt or foster, we are in need of supplies! Often the malnourished and sick animals need extra and because of amazing donors, we always seem to have what we need! Your donations mean the world to our foster parents, staff, and most of all the animals! Just last week we got a shipment from some kind people that have already been put to good use. Our foster parents donate their love and time so we do our best to provide them with whatever supplies they may need during the foster period.

Most needed of the lists puppy pads( any kind! we go through them quickly), ge**er chicken or turkey baby food, canned kitten food, nebulizers, play pens, miracle ni***es, and thermometers.

URGENCY FOR FOSTER HOMES!
Our dog kennels are super full again and we need your help! If you have no pets and want to learn what its like to have a pup in the house, give fostering a try! With cooler weather approaching, who wouldn't like a hiking buddy to take along and enjoy each other's company. You can also sip your pumpkin spice latte with a fun companion by your side!

If you already have pets, fostering is a great way to socialize your current pets. Have kids? Teach them extra responsibility and compassion by housing a shelter pet.

The HES Foster Team supports you ever step of the way and that includes medical care and supplies. No financial obligations.

You can sign up to foster at www.heschatt.org/foster . If dogs aren't compatible with your lifestyle, you can foster cats or even guinea pigs!

(this link has the dogs we think could benefit from time out the most, but almost every dog is eligible at this point since we are so full!)

While we do need anything on this list our biggest needs are:
kitten canned food, baby thrive packets, ge**er chicken baby food, kitten pop up pens, puppy pads, litter boxes, and nebulizers.

Why foster?

“My family and I foster for many reasons, not the least of which is our ginormous love for animals. But what struck us immediately was how invaluable the experience has been for our three kids, who range in age from five to ten. They learn the importance of kindness and compassion and what it means to have a deep, abiding respect for all creatures, big and small. Aside from those very important things, they learn how rewarding it is to give back to some of our community’s most vulnerable members. And these are lessons that can’t be taught in a classroom.❤️🐾” -Foster Mom Keyren

Apply to foster at www.heschatt.org/foster , the animals need you and your family will thank you for the teachable moments!
