I am a licensed USCG charter captain based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I offer 4, 6, and 8 hour guide trips (see the Services tab for rates). Today was a banger of a day! Multiple personal bests were broken and several quality fish came over the gunnel. I think we were just shy of a grand total of 300 lbs! Great way to end the year on a high note.

REALLY slow day with Twisted Tackle Fishing on the river. We tried everything and couldn’t get anything figured out. I’m glad my Bengals won, though. Who Dey!!

Today I had my buddy Patrick Twisted Tackle Fishing out for some carp fishing. It was a rough go with wind and rain, but we got a decent one before calling it quits.

Today I had Jack and Reily out for a mixed bag. We tried for smallmouth, but only got a channel, largemouth, and a big drum. The catfishing was pretty rough overall. With low current all day, it made for a tough bite. But we made the most of it and enjoyed being out on the water.

I had Josh Wilson and Josh Reynolds out on the river today. We tried for smallmouth the first couple of hours and got on some nice ones early. Then it was off to the cats. At our first setup, Josh W. went toe-to-toe with a bruiser of a blue going 55 lbs—his new personal best! The catfish bite after that got a little finicky. We ended up going to the dam and got on a good pattern to end the trip on a high note.

I had Mike Smith and his buddy Nick out on the river for a mixed bag. Lots of smallmouth came in the boat with a couple of big ones getting away. The catfishing started out really bad. We only had 1 cat downriver, but once the current dropped we made our way upriver to the dam and got on a good bite. Glad we ended the trip with a big one!

Today I had Robert Farrell and Greg out for a mixed bag. They both reign from L.A., and they wanted to get their first smallmouth. We knocked that out pretty quickly. Greg also caught his first striper going 17 lbs! We did some catfishing as well. Robert had the biggest blue going around 30 lbs. It was a nice fall day!

Gabe and Noah joined me for a mixed bag. The smallmouth were pretty cooperative today. Lots of small ones with one GIANT going 21”, 4.56 lbs! The catfishing was okay. We didn’t get anything dialed in off anchor, but we did bring in lots of channel cats drifting light tackle. The one real monster blue we had broke off…

I had Gabe Hall and his friend Tyree out on the river today. The goal was to get Tyree his personal best catfish, which we accomplished. Gabe put in a nice flathead as well. We put some eaters in the box to close the trip. It was a fun day!

Mark Cooper drove down from Wisconsin to fish with me one day, and the next day help out in Boone, NC, with the Samaritan’s Purse hurricane relief team. It was overall a REALLY challenging day for us. The cold and windy weather made it tough to get on a good bite. We did capitalize on the bites we got, including one big one that made our efforts really pay off.

LaMon and Rita Ware joined me on the water today. It was a frigid start to the trip with heavy fog, but it later turned out to be a very nice sunny day. The fishing was on the slow side for us. We worked very hard to find fish. Rita was rewarded with a her new personal best catfish at 53 lbs!

It has been about a month since I last took the boat out. With the high water we’ve recently had, I was excited to see what we could come up with. Gabe Hall joined me and we focused on the bass and cats. Quality was very good! Gabe broke his personal best blue catfish at 40 lbs! It was a fun morning!

I had Dustin Johnston and his friend Justin join me for some big cat huntin.’ We split up the trip, fishing 4 hours last night and 4 hours this morning. The big cats were firing on all cylinders. Everyone got a new personal best. I think we had close to 40 cats! It was a fantastic trip!

I had Gabe Hall join me last night for some catfishing. It had been a long time since I did a night bite. I was excited to use my brand new Okuma Cat Slayer rods. The first fish of the trip was Gabe’s new personal best catfish, a big flathead. Some nice blues also showed up to the show.

Jack Syers and his buddy Reily wanted to learn how to catch catfish free-lining below Chickamauga Dam. I think I did a pretty good job showing them the way. Highlight of the trip was a big blue that Reily caught right at the very end.

Today I had Louie Stocko and his daughter Savannah out on the river. The light tackle cats were chewing - well, the small ones were. We couldn’t find any good quality fish. It was still a fun day with a dad and his daughter.
