Today was round 2 with Robert and Greg. We got on a decent morning bite and then had to hunker down at the dam when the wind got up. I think we put in 14 cats.

I had Robert Farrell and Greg out there on this windy day. The smallmouth bite was really good. Robert got his new personal best smallie that was just shy of 5 lbs! Greg got on some nice ones as well. The catfish bite was really tough. The wind made it really challenging for us to get on a particular pattern. Robert was able to get in a nice 32 lber on light tackle to close the trip.

Steve Howell joined me on the lake today for catfish. The goal was to break his personal best, which was at 26 lbs. We had really good action in the morning catching a 23, 21, 20, and some teeners. Then the action quit for us when it got warm. On our way back to the ramp I hit one more spot, and it turned out to be one of the best flurries I’ve had on the lake. Steve caught a 43, breaking his personal best. After minutes of having that one in the boat, a rod buried down hard. He broke his PB again with a whopping 62 lber! We then had a 37 lber. Crazy action to close the trip.

Devon Ward joined me on the high seas today for a mixed bag. We got on a pretty good bass bite, caching several quality bass. We had a TARP smallie go 20.5” and a TARP spot go 18.5.” The wind was pretty hard to deal with from the get go, making the catfish bite a little tough. Once the winds laid down, though, we caught some great quality cats. It was a good day!

Got out for a couple of hours to see how the carp were doing after the storms. Muddy water and lots of debris made it tough, but Gabe Hall caught his first common carp coming in at 17 lbs!

LaMon W Ware joined me for a crappie scouting trip and we boated 18 keeper crappie in 5 hours. We also had some nice largemouth, yellow bass, and yellow perch come to the party. We did a few hours of catfishing, and LaMon loaded up on a scrappy 41 lber, his new personal best blue catfish.

I had a cancellation today. I tried to get some friends to come with me, but they were all busy. Maybe this was meant to be, because I broke my personal best common carp two times, lol. First one at 28 lbs and the second one at a whopping 31 lbs! I was out there for almost 6 hours, and these two beauties were well worth the wait and time.

Gabe Hall and I ventured out in the flooded waters in search of some giant fish. With all the rain we’ve had and more rain on the way, I knew we had a good shot to break his personal best. At our first setup, the outside rod buried down peeling drag. I just knew that Gabe had his new personal best. It was a 60 lb blue! Then at our second setup, Gabe set his new personal best with a 72 lber!!! It was quite a battle in heavy current. We motored downriver and picked up a couple more nice ones before heading in. Congrats, Gabe, on your big fish today!

I snuck out of the house for a couple of hours to get my first fish of the year. I caught 3. This one was the biggest at 31 lbs. Water temp was 42 degrees.

Today was a banger of a day! Multiple personal bests were broken and several quality fish came over the gunnel. I think we were just shy of a grand total of 300 lbs! Great way to end the year on a high note.

REALLY slow day with Twisted Tackle Fishing on the river. We tried everything and couldn’t get anything figured out. I’m glad my Bengals won, though. Who Dey!!

Today I had Jack and Reily out for a mixed bag. We tried for smallmouth, but only got a channel, largemouth, and a big drum. The catfishing was pretty rough overall. With low current all day, it made for a tough bite. But we made the most of it and enjoyed being out on the water.

I had Josh Wilson and Josh Reynolds out on the river today. We tried for smallmouth the first couple of hours and got on some nice ones early. Then it was off to the cats. At our first setup, Josh W. went toe-to-toe with a bruiser of a blue going 55 lbs—his new personal best! The catfish bite after that got a little finicky. We ended up going to the dam and got on a good pattern to end the trip on a high note.

I had Mike Smith and his buddy Nick out on the river for a mixed bag. Lots of smallmouth came in the boat with a couple of big ones getting away. The catfishing started out really bad. We only had 1 cat downriver, but once the current dropped we made our way upriver to the dam and got on a good bite. Glad we ended the trip with a big one!

Today I had Robert Farrell and Greg out for a mixed bag. They both reign from L.A., and they wanted to get their first smallmouth. We knocked that out pretty quickly. Greg also caught his first striper going 17 lbs! We did some catfishing as well. Robert had the biggest blue going around 30 lbs. It was a nice fall day!

Gabe and Noah joined me for a mixed bag. The smallmouth were pretty cooperative today. Lots of small ones with one GIANT going 21”, 4.56 lbs! The catfishing was okay. We didn’t get anything dialed in off anchor, but we did bring in lots of channel cats drifting light tackle. The one real monster blue we had broke off…
