We have made the decision, once again, to be closed today, Saturday the 11th. Given the conditions of the roads in our neighborhood and after reviewing the TDOT cameras along Hwy 153, we believe this to be the best decision for us. It is our intentions, at this point in time, to re-open tomorrow with our normal business hours. Thank you for your understanding. Please be safe if you must be out at all.

Friends ... We would like to encourage you to come by the store today, if you may have any need for items for your fish. Like many businesses in our area, we are uncertain that we will be able to open tomorrow and possibly Saturday, as well, , given the weather circumstances. We will post here any changes to our operating hours, as need arises. Be safe out there.

With the threat of winter weather fast approaching, we want to take this opportunity to remind everyone to be wary of the possible dangers to your fin-babies during this time. Extended power outages can cause real havoc on a fish tank. There is a lot of information online on how to get prepared!! This back-up air pump is just one possible way. We only have a few left.

Thank you to everyone who added to our USMC Toys for Tots box !!! It wasn't nearly as full as we had hoped but quite understandable. I am sure everyone has been feeling the pinch, or punch, of adapting their spending habits to keep their heads above water. Just remember, kindness and giving are year round events. Something as simple as a smile and a kind word can make a difference in someone's life. We can all be that difference. May the holidays bring you a peace that may have been missing for awhile, your inner peace.

To our Fin-family: Please don't forget we are a drop off location for USMC Toys for Tots!! Pick up is in about 2 weeks and our drop off rate is not where it should be so late in the season. When you are out doing your Christmas shopping, please remember to pick up a small gift and share it with this worthy cause. There is no minimum or maximum value requirement. The only requirement is that it be a new unwrapped toy. We have a few items from Sera to give away as an added incentive. Supplies are limited but hopefully your generosity isn't!! If you know someone that isn't really into the hobby, their donation is appreciated too. Please tell everyone you know!! This is such a worthy cause but time is short so please, help us help them!!

TO ALL OF OUR FRIENDS, FIN-FAMILY, AND CUSTOMERS: It is that time of year again !!! Aquatic Aesthetics is honored to be an official Toy drop-off location for this year's "United States Marine Corps'' TOYS FOR TOTS" program. The TOY or TOYS donated MUST be NEW and UNWRAPPED. There is no minimum or maximum value required on the toy or toys donated. For more information about the program, you can visit their website, www.toysfortots.org or their page, www.facebook.com/toysfortots. We have a nice big empty box ready to accept your generously donated toy or toys. Let's fill up as many boxes as we can between now and the final pick-up in the beginning of December. With your generosity, we were able to fill one full box last year. Let's try to improve on that this year. It has been difficult for many of us lately but no child deserves to go without a gift from "Santa" on Christmas morning. Think about it. What gift did you want as a child that Santa never brought you ?!? You can be that special Santa with that special toy for that special child!!! We look forward to seeing you all. So we brought a few of these in after a few folks lost power during the last big series of storms that moved through. We have five in stock so if you run into power issues feel free to check with us!! We have used this product and it worked well for us. This is also good to transport fish with when needing to do so.

Where do we start? Rob and I would like to thank everyone who made this year's Chattanooga Area Aquatic Society's annual swap meet such a huge success. We would like to recognize some of the very important people and businesses that made it all possible!! So here goes ... THANK YOU to:

All the hobbyists who turned out !!! All the work that goes into a swap like this is meaningless without the support from you all, both freshwater and saltwater, enthusiasts. There were people representing other groups from Atlanta , Knoxville, and all points in between and beyond!!

Ethan Dickson, his staff, and all the volunteers from the CAAS that gave their time and energies in setting up, advertising, collecting raffle items from national and local companies and soooo much more.

Local Coffee, once again, for opening their facility up to us and providing the CAAS with tables and chairs to accommodate all the vendors who turned out to show and sell their goods.

East Ridge Elementary School for allowing overflow parking in their parking lot. Last year, parking was at a premium so the ERES deserves a huge thank you for their permission.

Thank you to all the individuals and companies that supplied a wide assortment of items for our raffles. Also, to everyone who purchased the raffle tickets which help to secure venues and supplies for all CAAS events.

The swap was a huge success but please do remember your LFSs are here year round and very much appreciate your business.
We would encourage everyone to SUPPORT LOCAL small businesses, whenever possible. Thanks once again !!!

Announcement: Jolie's New Position at the Tennessee Aquarium

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of Jolie, who has accepted an exciting new position at the Tennessee Aquarium. While we are sad to see her go, we are incredibly proud of her accomplishments and the new opportunities that await her.

Jolie has been a valued member of our team for over three and a half years. Her dedication, hard work, and positive attitude have made a significant impact on our organization. From her first day with us, Jolie demonstrated exceptional skills and a commitment to excellence that has only grown over time.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Jolie and wish her all the best in her new role at the Tennessee Aquarium. We know she will continue to achieve great things and inspire those around her. And honestly, I've never seen her happier. Look at that smile!
