We made it through our first week in the new salon! A big change like this is not without at least a little bit of struggle, but we made it through fairly unscathed. We are so appreciative of our sweet clients who managed to find us even before our sign was up! 🫣

We are scheduling about 2 weeks in advance for small dogs, and up to 6 weeks in advance for our bigger friends (for haircuts.) As always, we have almost immediate availability for short haired dogs, and most double coated breeds who do not need their hair trimmed at all. Lora is currently scheduling a few weeks out for kitties.

It’s here! The move to our new location is fully underway! We are closed Thursday May ninth and Friday May tenth so that we can accomplish everything that needs to happen before we open our doors in our new location at 1007 Ashland Terrace.

Please bear with us as we may take a bit longer than normal to return calls and emails. We think you’ll agree that it’s worth the wait!

That’s right, WE’RE MOVING!

We are so excited to announce that we will be opening our new location on May 13th! Our beautiful new space at the corner of Norcross and Ashland Terrace offers a better layout for our furry friends as well as our wonderful staff. Only about a mile from our current spot, our new salon is just as convenient with easy access in and out of the parking lot.

While our kitty friends will no longer have a separate entrance, they will still have a fully equipped designated space - away from those of the canine persuasion.

And don’t worry, the blue couch and plants are coming along too!

Experience is preferred but not necessary. Full and part time available. Pay starting at $12/hour without experience, $15/hour with experience and references. Must be over 18 to apply.

With 20 years experience in our industry and a commitment to gentle handling, Lora is changing the cat grooming world! Her industry leading techniques and state of the art equipment ensure that your feline friend will never be sedated, harshly handled, or pushed past their limits while in her care.

Regardless of your cat’s coat type, regular grooming can help minimize shedding and avoid tangles. We use premium cat safe products to loosen shedding fur and ease matting.

Drying time is shortened and dryer stress avoided with the use of our enclosed cat dryer. Kitties relax in the gentle warm breeze before being thoroughly brushed to remove tangles and loose undercoat.

If your cat is particularly reactive, you may need to consider having their grooming needs met by a groomer located within a veterinary practice so that sedation may be safely offered. Cats should be up to date on vaccinations and on a flea preventative before coming into the salon.

Dear clients,

We wanted to take a moment to discuss the canine respiratory illness that is currently in the news and on of all our minds.

The current understanding of this disease is limited, however, reducing contact between dogs and ensuring that all pups are vaccinated against currently known illness (kennel cough, canine influenza) does provide some protection. This specific illness is believed to be a bacteria that has been on the radar since last fall.

In our salon, all dogs are kept separate and never allowed to mingle, but we do not have the ability to keep dogs totally quarantined from our each other or from communal spaces. We are once again implementing stricter cleaning procedures in an effort to prevent the possibility of spread.

We ask that our clients do their part by keeping your pets at home as much as possible and alerting us to any signs of illness immediately, for symptoms starting before OR after their appointment.

Our commitment to remaining informed about safety for our clients and their pets in our care remains strong as ever. We hope to make it through this with none of our beloved four legged friends getting sick!

It’s shedding season! (Yes, really!)

We all know that our double coated friends shed year round, with a major increase in the spring as they lose their winter coat to keep cool in the summer. In the fall, the same process happens again - this time to make way for a warmer winter coat!

As we once again reach the anniversary of one of our nations greatest tragedies, I’d like to take a moment to remember the four legged heroes of that day.

Riley, the Golden Retriever, (pictured here,) was trained to find live humans. He searched tirelessly through the rubble, and though not trained as a cadaver dog, he successfully located the bodies of several firefighters. He could not find anyone alive.

Bretagne, another Golden, and the last surviving 9/11 search and rescue pup, was only two years old when the towers fell. She and her human partner searched the grounds for 10 days. She did not find anyone alive.

Coby and Guinness, both Labrador Retrievers, searched for 11 days in 12 hour shifts each day. They worked areas far larger than they were trained for. They did not find anyone alive.

Trakr, a German Shepherd, found the last remaining survivor of the attack after she had been trapped under debris for 27 hours. Two days after this incredible find, he collapsed from smoke inhalation, exhaustion, and burns. Trakr lived for 8 more years, to the age of 15.

Around 300 dogs searched through the dangerous rubble in the days following this tragedy. Almost all of them were unsuccessful. They worked hour after hour, day after day, and in return? A couple of treats and a well earned sleep. And the promise to keep working alongside their humans the next day.

While nothing can soften the loss felt by our country, the dogs offered that little bit of hope. That little bit of comfort. Their stories still do.

Never forget.

Miss Aubrey has been coming to see me (Emily) twice a month for years! We love a frequent, consistent schedule because it allows your pup to form a relationship with their stylist which makes grooming much more enjoyable for them. Of course, a perk for you is a consistently clean pup!

A dog who is groomed regularly sees grooming as a normal part of life. A dog who is groomed infrequently will always see the process as a scary and unpredictable event. When we see them often, we learn their quirks and they learn that they are safe with us. Win - win!

Hi everyone, Emily here with a reminder that I am currently on vacation and therefore a little slower than usual to get back to online correspondence. As always, our staff in the salon are directing their focus to the animals in their care and not on the phone.
Calls will be returned by the end of the week.

Please note that we are scheduling in advance, and be prepared to plan ahead for your dog or cat’s next groom. No, we will not squeeze Fluffy in, but we can recommend other salons in the area if your dog needs to be groomed urgently.

I have updated the FAQ section on our website and encourage clients new and old to head over and give them a read. While you’re there, it’s a good idea to give yourself a refresher on our policies, which are being strictly enforced. This includes our late arrival and cancellation policies which apply regardless of how long you’ve been a client of ours.
