GOALS:
Prevent cruelty to animals in all its forms by providing rescue, housing, feeding, and medical attention for lost, stray, injured, or abandoned animals. Investigate complaints of cruelty brought to our attention. If cases of cruelty are not resolved through education, then offenders are prosecuted. Promote respect for animals and awareness of human responsibility for their welfare through e

ducational school presentations and general information to the public through print media and the Society's website. Maintain the dignity and defense of our goals through effective and meaningful interaction with communities throughout the counties we serve.

🐾🐾🐾Say hello to our friend Bow! At just under one year old, Bow finds the world a little scary but loves being brave enough to push the limits of what it has to offer! Bow seems to be okay with other dogs but would need to meet a friend that he can trust. Once you earn Bow's trust you've got a friend for life. A long hike? Sure. A night in? He's all about it. Bow wants what you want, and that's a good friend.🐾🐾🐾

**WE NEED YOUR HELP** Most of us have recovered from the ice storm, and we wanted to give all our friends and supporters time to clean up their own homes and yards. Our play yard was hardly damaged, so we have been able to get the dogs outside, however, our dog walking path was hit pretty hard with downed trees and branches. This Saturday 4/26 starting at 10:00 am we could use your help to clear the path. It may take us a couple of try’s to get it done, but we know our friends will pitch in to make this happen. Please bring your gloves, wheelbarrows, saws, and determination and and help make the path safe for the walkers and the dogs! Our internet and phone are still out, so contact us on messenger! Thank you to the “Blanket Beavers” from Fenton, Mi. They made all these beautiful blankets for our dogs and cats! They will go home with a new blanket made with love in their adoption bag. Thank you!

‼️NEW OPPORTUNITY AT CCHS‼️
Do you have interest in walking a dog but don't have one yourself? Are you passionate about providing positive experiences to animals in need? Maybe you just love going on walks and could use a friend to tag along! Whatever your reason may be, we would love to have you come walk one of our four-legged friends!🐶

We have created an ideal trail for you and our dogs to enjoy that is perfect for their daily needs. At just over 1.5 miles this route will take approximately 30 minutes to walk. If you are interested in walking dogs here at CCHS, please fill out the volunteer questionnaire linked below! You are also more than welcome to come in and fill out a paper copy.

🐾Come meet Atticus tonight at the Cheboygan K of C Hall from 3:30pm-5:30pm for some fun Easter activities!!!🐣 At one and a half years old, this fun loving boy has spent nearly 1/3 of his life at the shelter due to no fault of his own. He is great with kids, other animals, being in public, and having a good time!🐾

🐾 DO YOU HAVE ANY EXTRA EGGS FOR OUR SHELTER GUESTS?! 🐾 CCHS is again asking for any kind of egg donations! If you have any extra that you will not use, or need to get rid of- PLEASE donate them to our shelter guests. They are a great source of nutrition, supports immunity, bone health, vision, heart, kidney health etc. They’re also a tasty treat! 🐶 Our shelter guests would greatly appreciate any donations 🐣 Thank you!

Annie Deserves Her Happy Ending
7-Year-Old Mountain Cur | Spayed & Fully Vaccinated
Waiting since December 14, 2024

Annie isn’t just another dog in the shelter. She’s a soul who’s been through a lot… and she’s still holding out hope that her person is out there.

She was adopted once before, but life didn’t go as planned and Annie found herself back at the shelter. Since then, she’s been waiting. Watching other dogs find homes. Hoping her turn will come.

Annie is 7 years old, and all she wants is love.
She wants someone to take her on walks, to sit beside her on quiet nights, to tell her she’s a good girl. She wants to belong to someone again.

She’s affectionate. She’s loyal. She’s ready.

But Annie needs the right home:
• No young children
• No other pets
• Someone who understands what it means to truly commit to a shelter dog
• Someone who’s ready to be her world, because she’ll make you hers

Annie doesn’t want much just a soft place to land, a hand to hold, and a heart that won’t give up on her.

Meet Leon and Berger—two sweet, fluffy boys with hearts as big as their paws!
Leon is the more mellow of the two, happiest when he’s by your side enjoying a good head scratch. Berger is the playful one, always up for a game of fetch or a friendly wrestling match.

Both boys are incredibly loving, loyal, and would thrive in a farm environment where they can enjoy the fresh air and keep watch over livestock. While they aren’t trained guardian dogs just yet, they’re very easygoing and trainable with a little patience and guidance.

With their beautiful long coats, they do require frequent brushing to keep them comfortable and looking their best—but we promise the extra grooming is totally worth it for the love they give in return.

We’d love to see these two go to a home together, but we would consider separating them if it means giving each a shot at the life they deserve.

Max is a fun-loving, high-energy 3-year-old pug with a big personality and an even bigger heart! He’s neutered, up to date on all his vaccines, and always ready for action. Max loves to play, zoom around, and soak up attention—but he also needs a home that can provide structure, routine, and continued training to help him be his best self.

He is a goofball sidekick who thrives with guidance, consistency, and someone willing to invest time and love into his future.
