Prevent cruelty to animals in all its forms by providing rescue, housing, feeding, and medical attention for lost, stray, injured, or abandoned animals. Investigate complaints of cruelty brought to our attention. If cases of cruelty are not resolved through education, then offenders are prosecuted. Promote respect for animals and awareness of human responsibility for their welfare through e

ducational school presentations and general information to the public through print media and the Society's website. Maintain the dignity and defense of our goals through effective and meaningful interaction with communities throughout the counties we serve.

We have a trio of the sweetest puppies here at the shelter that are looking for new homes. Say hello to Zeke, Zara, and Zorro! These pups are all looking for a new place to play, grow, and learn to be the best dogs they can be.
Currently we are looking for fosters with intentions to adopt as they are not quite ready to be fixed. If you have interest in one of these pups, please fill out an application on our website.🐶🐾

🐾Friendly barn cats!🐾 We currently have a very friendly group of black barn cats looking for forever homes. They are all fixed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. All they need now is a new place to hunt!
Adoption fees are waived on barn cats, but we do ask that you are educated on the pre-release, release, and how to properly maintain a healthy fixed colony by providing them with shelter, food, and water at all times.

Hello world, my name is: M a g g i e 💕

I’m an 11 month old mixed breed, medium in size.
Unfortunately, I have had a very rough start to my life.. so I am looking for my forever person. I say person, because I am afraid of just about everything at first. I’m not so sure that will ever change, although I really want it too! I need someone that will be dedicated in trying to understand me, and the reason why I am the way I am today. Once I trust you, you’re my buddy ❤️ I’m looking for the best fitting adult family with experience in dog body language while giving me time to decompress as I’m very confused myself. Amy, at Northern Tails Grooming Services gave me my first groom of many! She went really slow and took her time with me.. Don’t I look pretty?! 🥰

🐾 Hi! I’m Martha May! 🐾 A little bit about me:
🌻 I’m currently in a foster home.
🌷 I’m 10 years old.
🌻 I’m a Shih Tzu mix.
🌷 There were 6 of us... we grew up never being loved on, cared for, walked or even groomed. But we all got rescued together! Isn’t that great?!
🌻 All my other siblings have been adopted “no fault of my own” they say. I’m not asking for a lot, just a small quiet family with the patients to learn & understand me.
🌷 I’m still learning what love is, so please move slow & speak softly to me. I still cower when I'm scared, I'm learning that not all humans are bad.
🌻 Please remember I will need frequent grooming, so I don’t get matted again like I was when they found me.
🌷 My teeth were just cleaned when I was getting fixed, microchipped & vaccinated.

ADOPTED
Meet Quill. Quills handsome self came in as a stray whose family never came for him. Quill is estimated to be just under 2 years old. He is a bit mouthy and loves to talk back! Quill is quite handsome but lets you know when he needs his space. Quill is learning some manners, on and off leash here at the shelter. Quill has plenty of energy, loves to go on his daily walks, and is more than full of personality! Quill seems to do ok with the other dogs he has seen here at the shelter as well as kids but we are not sure how he would be with cats. Quill will require a meet and greet, like all our dogs, with any person/dog(s) in the home. If you'd like to meet Quill, head on over to our website for an application!

October is Adopt a shelter dog month! We are proud to announce we are participating in BISSELL Pet Foundation ETS event for the month of October! We are offering $50 off of adoptions from October 1-15th. We are beyond excited to be partnering with Bissell again for our event and look forward to you hopefully finding your forever friend! Through the days of our event we are REQUIRING an appointment for meet and greets with any of our dogs as well as an application done and turned in prior to meeting. We have LOTS of adoptable dogs here at the shelter right now looking for their forever homes! If you have been considering getting a new fur baby, please consider one of our shelter dogs. They are all spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. The adoption fee for a dog is $120. Come on out anytime Monday-Friday 9am-3:30pm to meet them and possibly bring one of these amazing dogs into your home! 🐾

UPDATE! We have one spayed female kitten left! Come on out and meet her Monday-Friday 9am-3:30pm! We have kittens available for adoption! All kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Adoption fee for a kitten is $75.

CHESTER HAS BEEN ADOPTED!! We have one very lonely kitten left! Chester is a 14 week old neutered male kitten. He is very friendly and vocal. He sometimes will start out a little shy but he is a very affectionate kitten. Chester is breaking our hearts here as he is so lonely in the kitten room after his siblings were adopted. Chester does use his litter box here at the shelter. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $50 through July 31st, then it goes up to $75.

‼️Come meet Cheyenne‼️ Her name is quite fitting, as she can be shy at first. Her previous owner was elderly, and Chey had a very laid back life with no kids, cats or other dogs around. Chey has opened up a lot here at CCHS as you can see, thanks to our amazing dog walkers! 💜. - Cheyenne is approx. 2 years old, fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. She would do best in a home that is quiet, with no other animals or children. Chey truly has an old soul ❤️. If you are wanting to give Cheyenne the forever home she deserves- come take her for a walk! Mon- Friday. 9am- 4pm. 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 🔥 Cheyenne’s adoption fee is WAIVED due to the Bissell Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelter Event going on until July 31st 🔥.

Lucky is a 4 year old spayed female cat looking for a home. She is friendly and like some attention. We do not know if Lucky is good with other cats, kids or dogs however she would be willing to give it a try. Lucky is already spayed, microchipped and vaccinated and would love for you to come out to see her. Her adoption fee is $25.

Bailey is a 4 year old spayed female cat looking for her forever home. Bailey is friendly but doesn't really like to be picked up. She loves to explore new things and run around. We don't know how Bailey is with other animals but she would be willing to give it a try. Bailey is up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped and ready for her new home.

Buster is a 2 year old neutered male cat looking for a forever home. Buster is good with kids and is housebroken but we don't know how he is with other animals. Buster is friendly and loves to wonder around when he can. Buster is up to date on his shots, microchipped and ready for his forever home. Buster would love for you to come out and see him so he can find his forever home. His adoption fee is $25.

This is Miss Tippy! Tippy came to us as a stray with some of her kittens. Tippy is approx. 4 years old- tippy is fixed, chipped and utd on vaccinations. tippy is a bit shy but enjoys being held as long as you move slow with her and earn her trust. tippy would love for you to come visit! her adoption fee is 25$

Hi, I'm Bruce. I am a 2 year old neutered male Pitbull mix looking for a new home. I am a little on the hyper side so I would love a fenced in yard where I can run and have some fun. I do jump and can jump over smaller fences so if you have one you will want to keep an eye on me. I love to go for walks but I do better on a harness type system then a normal leash. I am friendly towards people but would prefer a home with no small children as I tend to knock them down. I am looking to be the only animal in the home as I don't do well with other dogs. I do know some commands like sit and stray and I would love for you to come out and meet me. My adoption fee is $90 but I'm already neutered, micro-chipped and vaccinated.
