This little lady is sooo sweet! Going to be just like her mom!💛
Sleepy LGD
How cute is this sleepy fella🥹
Luna & Rubius
This last week we moved the livestock dogs. If any of you have moved with your pups what was the biggest change you noticed?
Mine adapt really well and I’ve moved before. Some tips and tricks that help when you’re moving include keeping them tethered when your not home for the first couple weeks. And walking the new perimeter with them multiple times a week. They need to learn their new location as you want them to. Think about where they will be guarding!
We have sooo much fencing and I need to make jump fences between some of the enclosures so that the dogs can access the fields, ducks, turkeys, geese, and the chickens but not let the birds out🤣 that’s tricky!
Farrier recommendations?
Any Lewis county friends know of a local farrier? Miss Ariel is home and needs a trim!🧜♀️
How you know you have a good LGD:
Ducks mating in her pen, babies eating mush not even a foot away, her own food container right next to them, and not an ounce of poor body language in sight. 👏🏼
Oh sweet momma you’re so wonderful 🥹🤍🤍🤍🐻❄️🐻❄️🐻❄️
Welcome to the start of our mealworm farm 🥹
Honestly not sure if I’ll be able to freeze/dry/unalive them for my chickens. they’re weirdly cute!
❤️Red collar boy still 👀for his 🏡🐷🐴🐓
An absolute snuggle bug, will make a great LGD on a farm with kids, and small creatures.
More pictures of him in the comments.
Hi👋🏼
🧡Orange collar boy reserved
Sprouts started for the chickens!
🌱What are you planning on planting in your garden this year?
🌱Do you grow crops for yourself andddd your animals? We always grow pumpkins for our critters and they get the leftover squash! Tell me what you do! Anything new?
🌱These lentils have yet to be rinsed hence the color, but I’m excited to see how they turn out!
New dopamine level unlocked 🔓❤️😍
🐥I caught this today as we were leaving for the lake, laughed at her peacefully napping, and the 5 month old chickens just having their way with her. She didn’t move a muscle!
Momma Nymeria has to be locked up because she’s in heat 😖 and we’re skipping this opportunity for a litter-don’t worry she’ll have babies again next year!
She’s absolutely perfect. I couldn’t ask for a more poultry safe LGD🤎🐥

Fun fact about him, he will jump on almost any other adult, (outside of my view usually, and I’m alpha) but never has jumped on me or any children. Smart boy😉 we don’t tolerate jumping from any of our dogs, not because we don’t want giant bear hugs, but because it’s dangerous having an almost 200 pound dog become your height. Plus, it’s excited immature behavior. Cute when they’re puppies I’m sure, but not so much when you expect them to be calm, working, or able to handle them.
Blue☁️💙
Little blue still has yet to be reserved!
Pretty light grey markings around his eyes💙
Largest & darkest female of this litter🖤
Monday they will be 2 weeks old! People will be welcome to come visit them after that day, and after all reservations have chosen their pick!
The runt of the litter is by far the smallest runt I have ever personally had. Runts are tricky, especially with LGDs.
I, as a breeder, want to make sure that everyone survives, but I also want to make sure that I’m producing strong healthy puppies who are going to be equipped to do their job correctly.
If I have a runt that is not thriving on its own I’m already behind in that. Which is why I try to do the *least* I can while also trying to do the most I can.
She had a little bit of formula yesterday, which she didn’t like too much. So I’ll be monitoring her eating and making sure that she’s getting enough time to eat without having to fight off puppies who are three times her size. This is doing the least, because if she’s strong enough to latch and get her calories in now then she’ll be strong enough to fight for her food in a week or two.
Most runts survive, but most runts get lots of intervention which I will not be doing. This is typical in family bred dogs, not in farm dogs. Usually by week 2 you will know if they’ll make it or not.
All of this is also why I do not allow people to reserve the runt until they’re considered equal to their siblings.
Today this runt is weighing in at 11.6 ounces, already up from yesterday! Everyone else will get weighed every 4-6 days but she will be weighed daily.

A couple commonly asked questions:
🌾Should you get a runt? Yes. I wouldn’t ever turn my head away from a runt, especially one who is thriving.
🌾Will a runt stay small? No. Most runts go on to be just as big and just as healthy as their siblings. And they most definitely will NOT stay small.
🌾Do runts have more health issues than their siblings? No, the only major difference between a runt and a sibling is size/weight.
