Chinese medicine refers to all food as having energetic effects — cool, neutral, warm & hot are one of the types of energetics focused on.

We find frequently that checking our proteins (the biggest ingredient in your pets diet) and making sure we are feeding one that matches the energetic need for our pet is crucial. For example, by feeding duck or rabbit you could energetically cool down your dog, or lamb could help energetically warm up your cat.

This can also help in times of stress to the body. A great example is during allergy season - our bodies become hot and inflamed - so feeding a cooling protein can help!
