It’s Black fly season in our area. You may notice these bites on your dog (generally the belly/groin area). Although they are unpleasant to look at, most dogs are not bothered by them and will go away within a few days. If your dog is scratching or irritated, give us a call and we can help!

Did you know it’s National Veterinary Technician Week? We celebrate our technicians and assistants every October. We had a great week with lots of food, and prizes. We truly appreciate all you do and as we say every year “We couldn’t do it without you”!

Although a few of you are missing (we do actually allow for vacations and maternity leave 😂) we know you are here in spirit.

Our boy Brutus turned 13 on July 2nd. He enjoyed his very own birthday cake and some of his party animal friends joined him on his big day. Needless to say, he had a great time and rewarded himself with a well-deserved nap.

Brutus belongs to Dr. Berchtold and Fred and has been a fixture around the office since he was a pup. You have probably seen him around the office enjoying his favorite activity (looking for snacks)!

You are so loved Brutus! Happy Birthday big guy 🥰

Did you know June is National Microchipping Month? We believe in the importance of microchipping for all pets. A HomeAgain microchip is safely injected in your pet and stores an individual ID code that is easy to scan by a vet or rescue shelter if your pet is lost. Please keep those chocolate goodies away from your pets. We have seen many cases of chocolate ingestion already this season. Dogs can smell through those wrapped packages under the tree, the stockings hung with care, etc. It is important to seek immediate veterinary care/advice as soon as it happens. Prevention is the best medicine.
