I am sure everyone is anxious for an Ace update and I've got you 😉

Ace stayed the night with Dr Foster last night so doc could see how the wound was progressing.

Dr Foster is pleased with the progress in which it's healing 🩵

Ace is back to eating (excellent that he's feeling so much better that he's wanting to eat!), and he gave Leah some kisses! 🥹

Yall, you can tell this pooch understands that everyone is trying to help him 💚 despite how painful bandage changes are, he's not nipped, growled, etc at anyone. Bless his heart ❤️

Thanks to everyone's help, we raised $997 which completely covered last week's bill and it put $54 towards today's bill!

Ace isn't done yet though guys...we're possibly looking at another surgery next week (depending on how it's healing) that we could use help funding.

I wish I had more words than Thank you.... that to me doesn't cover it but THANK YOU ☺️

Today is National Canine Lymphoma Awareness Day.

Unfortunately cancer is a problem in humans and animals alike but, if we know what to look for, hopefully it can be caught quickly and treated.

Below is some information on Lymphoma, the signs and symptoms that you may see and how it can be treated.

As always, if you are concerned about anything, talk to your veterinary team.

UPDATE 2
$819 is what we're up to in donations!!!

UPDATE!!!

Our bill is at $943 and we're at 619 in donations.

We know for sure he will have to have another surgery in a couple of weeks to close up the wound and he will be staying for monitoring next week.

So we still need donations for upcoming expenses to help this sweet boy!

We are not out of woods yet, but Dr Foster is optimistic.

With prayers anything is possible.

Hey friends!!

I have a great update about Ace ☺️

In case you're new- Ace escaped his home and his family was absolutely devastated 💔 he was gone for 4 days and yesterday he got home!! Unfortunately, he came home in bad shape, having been attacked at the neck!! To add to it, the broken flesh attracted bugs and maggots were in the wounds. The family just moved so finances are extremely tight but they needed help. When we heard what was going on we knew we had to help them. We rushed the pup to Constant Companion Animal Hospital where Dr Foster and his amazing team got to work.

Ace was given antibiotics, meds to kill the maggots, bloodwork was done, pain meds, IV fluids and surgery was done this morning.

Dr Foster called today and he and his team cleaned out the maggots, cleaned up the dead skin, and assuming no setbacks, he believes Ace will make a full recovery!!

Ace is NOT our rescue and is NOT being surrendered to us. His family genuinely needed the help and we are so honored to be able to help him ❤️

So far $242 has been raised to cover the initial vet visit and I've attached the invoice so you can see this is where your donation to this family is going.

We still have an extensive bill and honestly we expect more next week....but for now we're aiming to pay this balance in full by Monday evening!

A family contacted me after their dog, Ace, escaped five days ago. Although he is now safe, Ace sustained neck injuries and lacked access to medical care until today.

The family, having recently moved, faces financial constraints.

We intervened, taking Ace to Constant Companion Animal Hospital, where the veterinary team is cautiously optimistic.

Estimated medical costs range from $700 to $800, with potential additional expenses.

We are begging for donations to alleviate the family's financial burden, aiming to raise $800.

Below is an estimate of expenses for one dog for one month. Currently we have over 30 dogs at and unfortunately for rescues set up like us, we don't get to partake in many of the funding options that a standard humane shelter would.
