Our Facilities Manager Jack was out early before sunrise plowing the roads on the property, and our staff continues providing essential care for all the residents. We are doing everything we can to make sure everyone stays safe and warm.But the dangerous weather conditions aren’t over yet! Resident Spotlight: Welcome Cari 🐔 Cari and Emile were surrendered to Ahimsa Safe Haven before being brought to Barn. Emile unfortunately didn’t survive due to previous injuries from a predator attack. Both birds (Cari and Emile) had nutritional deficiencies early in life, having been fed only produce scraps, which may explain their delayed development. Cari was then introduced as a companion to Riley, who was living alone. Though Cari’s sex is still uncertain (showing hen features but hasn’t laid eggs or crowed), they’ve formed such a strong bond with Riley that they’ll remain together either way. Despite appearing stern in photographs, Cari will eagerly approach anyone walking by. Cari and Riley are living their happiest and healthiest lives together currently at Barn. We continue to to battle through this relentless arctic blast, with temperatures reaching dangerously low levels that put our Barn residents at serious risk.
