Hello,

Sandy A2002658 came in as a stray with her (7) 1 week old pups. They are still nursing on mom. Mom seems a bit shy, but didn't show any signs of aggression when I met her. This family needs to get out of the shelter ASAP.

I have attached a photo of mom and her pups as well as her kennel card below.

Moms and litters should not be housed in the shelter long term due to immature immune systems and susceptibility to infectious conditions such as URI.

Please let us know if you can help this family! Expect them to be in danger soon.

3/29/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: At the back of the kennel as i leash her she just layed on the floor. I muzzle and carry her into a new kennel
4/4/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Dog did not take treats, didnt go for baby talk, tense body, head lowered, tail close to self/between legs. Tried lureing her out with her puppies but she still was not budging. Had to muzzle and carry.
4/5/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Aproaching kennel dog was laying, lip licking, worried eyes, as i leash her she just layed on the floor. I try using food to encourage her out the kennel she was not intrested, i muzzle and try to carry she started thrashing, deficating. I then open another kennel and she ran in.

Haley A1996633 came in with her (6) 3 week old pups on 2/23/25 after they were found as strays. Her puppies are only 3 weeks old and they are still relying on Haley to survive. Mom is a bit reserved and timid, but didn't show any signs of aggression when I met her. This family needs to get out of the shelter ASAP.

3/15/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: Lunging and foward barking as other people are passing by.
3/20/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: Haley was a move adopt to my section this morning. She greeted me at the potty yard gate with a gently wagging tail and let me leash her. She walked loosely to her new kennel only slowing down to look around after passing doorways. Inside her kennel she has been quiet and relaxing.

2/26/2025: INTAKE: five dogs that have been seen around an apartment or condo building at Antoine Dr and W Tidwell for about a month now. One of the dogs is black and appears to have burns on its back, and another is a heavily pregnant female. Spanish Caller.
3/1/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: Approaching kennel she was laying down facing the back wall. As she seen me she got up tensed, tail down, avoiding the leash moving her head back. She walked on a loose leash outside. As we were outside she started thrashing. We walked back inside she went into new kennel no issue
3/2/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: animal walk loooe on a leash....
3/5/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: tense body, whaled eyes. easy to leash, slowly walked out of kennel, when dogs began to bark as we walked by she froze, I turned and walked through area with less dogs she walked on loose leash out once we got outside she began to pull back on leash.
3/7/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: Reluctant to walk outside and needed frequent breaks to pause before walking again, but once she had been outside walked with loose leash next to me, tappy toes and wagging tail back inside and into her kennel.
3/9/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: Approaching kennel, Sassy stood with a semi-tense body. Once leashed she would not walk past the other kennels, as there was someone using a hose and other dogs vocalizing, so we went the opposite way and she walked loosely. Quiet and friendly.
3/10/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: While approaching kennel Sassy meet me at kennel door sitting still while fixing me with a soft stare before allowing me to loose leash es**rt her to the runs where she walked around and sun bathed before returning with mirrored behavior.
