Grandpa's Shot of Brandy JH grew to be a big 120 pound dog which became a junior hunter and the best you could ask for . He was the only dog I had that could pull himself into the boat all by himself in deep water. After him came many others all of which had a title of Junior Hunter until Blue Skies Ninth Street Anne SH came along in 1999, Anne was out of Deck's and Chris Paynes dog Chess. In 2001

I retired as all I wanted to do was play with my dogs. My goal in doing so was to breed, train and test a dog to the Master Hunter level which I have now done and am working with a couple more. We have bred and sold many puppies since we started breeding in 1996. Anne was bred to Linda Harger's dog Freezer three times and threw some great dogs that I am working with now and am starting to cross with my old line.

Thank you all for the wonderful memories and photos of my grandpa Clayton Evans or on Blue Skies Chesapeakes. We will be arranging a celebration of life at his home at a later date. As soon as we figure out when we will post it here on both of his pages. We are thinking March pending weather. Grandpa was a great man and will be greatly missed. But his is now in peace with his many dogs, my grandma and mom. Please please keep sharing on his pages.

Clayton Evans Blue Skies Chesapeakes passed away peacefully in his sleep at 1240 am on Sunday, January 22 at his home with his family. It has been a very hard and emotional two weeks since his cancer diagnosis and our time was cut short way to soon. He is at peace now fishing in the rivers above and hunting with the many great dogs he has had waiting for him. We will always love this man and so many will forever hold him in their hearts.

As some people may know my grandpa Clayton Evans Blue Skies Chesapeakes has not been well for awhile. Roby McLendon was able to convince him to go to the hospital last Wednesday where they found out that he has end stage lung cancer and that the cancer was obstructing his right lung, which was the cause of his breathing difficulty. He underwent a surgery on Monday that opened things up so he can be comfortable. Grandpa is now home on Hospice and said he would love to have visitors and see all those that love him.

A few things that we ask.....if you plan on visiting contact Kiesha McClendon, she is maintaining a list of visitors. PLEASE DO NOT JUST STOP BY AS THERE ARE TIMES THAT HIS PERSONAL NEEDS WILL NEED TO BE TENDED TO AND THERE ARE TIMES THAT HE WILL JUST NEED TO REST, PLEASE CONTACT KIESHA FIRST. There are a lot of people that are going to want to spend time with grandpa as well as he easily tires out so we ask that you plan to limit your time to 30-60 minutes so he can get some rest between visitors. Please know that he will try to visit as much as possible, because that is what he does, but unfortunately there are times when he will fall asleep 😴 as well as there are times he simply will not hear you🤪. We ask that if you are sick (with anything) or exposed to ANYTHING that you not come to the house, Kieshia can arrange a video visit with him. There are so many people in grandpas world that care for him that he also I turn cares for. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to myself Jodi Evans-Gay, his son Steve Evans Roby or Kieshia McLendon. This is sad news for all of us but we want all those he cared for to be able to come spend some time with him and share their memories. We do have care takers within the family that are caring for him around the clock so if anyone would like to bring a meal it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, the health of Spot and Sadie is also rapidly deteriorating. We know that grandpa has always welcomed any dog to his house, but due to their condition as well as Sadie has become very protective of him and the house we ask that people PLEASE NOT bring your dogs.

This little guy has been on my door step every night an sometimes another in the dogs water bowl or the back door they are about 1 1/4 inch long
