Just a reminder:

When you are adopting a pet,
take the time to meet the scared ones,
the shy ones, the ones that don't stick out to you.

The ones that hide under their bed,
blanket or litter pan.
The ones that hiss, the ones that bark,
the ones that cower, shake and cry and
look at you with confusion.
The ones with boring colors or missing limbs.

The older ones, the frail ones.
The ones who seem beyond repair,
the ones who seem to have given up.
Because they are not...and they haven't.
They just need you. And sometimes
you just really need them too.

Waiting for his favorite toys to dry 😍

β€œYou said he was a burden, that he held you back. Now, he sits in his kennel, food untouched, eyes reflecting the emptiness. Was it the walks you hated? The sloppy kisses? He waits by the door, tail thumping against the cold concrete. Hours turn to days, days to weeks. Still, he waits. His love, a silent plea for your return. β€œ

He doesn't deserve this. Think twice before bringing a furry friend home. Love is a lifetime commitment, not a disposable accessory.

LOL! Love this!!!!!🐾🐾🐾

An old tired-looking dog wanders into a guy's yard. He examines the dog's collar and feels his well-fed belly and knows the dog has a home.
The dog follows him into the house, goes down the hall, jumps on the couch, gets comfortable and falls asleep. The man thinks its rather odd but lets him sleep. After about an hour the dog wakes up, walks to the door and the guy lets him out. The dog wags his tale and leaves.
The next day the dog comes back and scratches at the door. The man opens the door, and the dog enters, proceeding down the hall. It jumps on the couch, settles in, and falls asleep once more. The man allows it to rest. After approximately an hour, the dog awakens, strolls to the door, and the man permits it to go outside. The dog wags his tale and leaves.
This goes on for days. The guy grows really curious, so he pins a note on the dog's collar: "Your dog has been taking a nap at my house every day."
The next day the dog arrives with another note pinned to his collar: "He lives in a home with four children -- he's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?'

Historically, unsocialized outdoor cats have been at risk in animal shelters. In order to save more lives, Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter created a working cat program. 🐱

Designed to create a mutually beneficial partnership for at-risk cats and humans needing rodent control, these cats are adopted out as β€œworking cats” or β€œbarn cats." However, their placements are not just limited to barns. The shelter also places these hard-working felines in warehouses, shops, arenas, breweries, and garden centers, just to name a few. While they may not make ideal house cats, they do make great mousers and a beloved companion for both people and companies.

Wanting to make sure their cats have the best life possible, Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter makes sure every cat is fully vetted and requires that the adopters provide covered shelter, daily food and water, and long-term veterinary care. After all, just because they have a job does not mean they are not a part of the family.

It is because of innovative programs like this that we are getting one step closer to moving our country no-kill by 2025! πŸ‘ -katheryn

Good to know!
To help the bees during the summer months there are fewer flowers and other food sources for the bees.
Water is also scarce and so many bees drown as they try to drink from the pools.
Grate an apple and add some water to a bowl.
The bees will be able to get the sugars from the fruit and drink the water and not drown as they can stand on the pieces of fruit.
Our bee populations are threatened, let's give them all the support we can.
Thank you πŸ™ for them 🐝
