Meet Pet Care Supervisor Alexis!
Alexis has been with K9 Resorts since October of 2022. She has moved from Pet Care Technician to Pet Care Supervisor in August of this year and is certified in Pet First Aid.
Her favorite part of working at K9 Resorts is "working around all of the dogs and learning all of their quirky traits".
She has a pet bunny at home name Jessie. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, walking in nature, and exploring large cities.
Alexis is one of the people directly taking care of your dog while in daycare and while with us overnight so if you see Alexis, make sure to say HELLO....she knows your dog very well!

This week is National Practice Managers Appreciation Week!
In celebration, we are proud to spotlight Assistant Manager Hannah!

Hannah has been with K9 Resorts since September of 2021. Her favorite things about working at K9 Resorts are seeing the happy pups rushing in to play with their friends and favorite staff members, forming relationships and connections with their owners, and the abundance of education this company has provided to her in both pet care and hospitality.
Her certifications include:
Professional Pet Boarding Council: Pet Boarding Certification Level 1 & II.
International Boarding & Pet Services Association - IBPSA: Canine Care Provider and Canine Care Specialist.
Cornell University: Service Excellence and Hospitality Certification.
Pet Tech: Pet First aid and CPR.
Hannah has two cats named Oliver and Bean who are 5 and 7! Outside of work she enjoys traveling, going to concerts, comedy shows, and enjoying nature!

🐾 Heartbroken for Shirley 🐾

Today was supposed to be Shirley’s big day—she had her bags packed, ready to meet her forever family. But sadly, her adopter canceled last minute. 💔

Shirley is a sweet, 6-year-old, 15 lb Yorkie mix who's been waiting patiently for her chance at happiness. She may be a little shy and takes some time to warm up, but once she does, she’s the most loyal and loving companion. She’s been doing so well in her foster home and gets along beautifully with other dogs and kids.

We know her perfect family is out there, someone who will see beyond her shyness and love her for the gentle, kind soul she is. Shirley just needs a family willing to give her the time and patience she deserves to bloom into the wonderful dog we know she can be. 🌸

Please don’t forget about Shirley. She’s still waiting, packed bags and all, for her forever home. 💔

SHOULD YOU BRING YOUR DOG'S OWN FOOD WHEN BOARDING?
For your convenience and considering what may be best for your pup, the most simple answer is NO.
When your dog comes to K9 Resorts, there is a change is sites, sounds, and smells compared to being at home. The side effect of such a sensory change may be loose bowel movements.
K9 Resorts uses a prescription form of food called Blue Buffalo GI (Gastro Intestinal). This food will more than meet the nutritional requirements for your dog but also deter the possibility of bowel issues. Blue Buffalo GI is formulated to reduce stomach problems with no transition period from your dog's regular food. It is our pleasure to offer this food free of charge with overnight boarding.
We have a dry and canned version of this food. For dogs with chicken allergies, we also offer a salmon based formula.
If your dog is on a prescription food prescribed by your veterinarian, you SHOULD bring that food in with your dog. We ask that you pre-bag this food per meal and clearly mark each bag with your dogs name.

Many clients request us to "put my dogs pills in his food".
For the safety of our guests, we cannot include pills with your pup's food. Dogs (especially our newer guests) enter K9 Resorts, and it is a very new environment. New sights, sounds, smells, and people may effect the behavior of a dog. This includes playfulness, bowel movements, urination, and even eating habits.
By placing medication in a dog's food bowl, we risk the chance that your dog may not ingest the medication (if she/he does not eat that particular meal). Medication must be administered separately by our Pet Care Supervisor, and documented in our digital system. Medication is typically given in flavored pill pockets (chicken, maple, or duck).
If you have a special medication request, please inform our Customer Service Staff at the time of the reservation. Feel free to bring in peanut butter, cream cheese, or whatever you choose to entice your pup to take his/her medication.

We are finding that our Large Dog Daycare is sometimes booking up during the week, especially when the public schools are closed.
For the safety of all of our four-legged guests, we are limiting the amount of pups in daycare.
We URGE all of our clients to make reservations ahead of time for daycare. We may not have availability if you call us to use our daycare service on the same day.
