šŸšØ URGENT: Asheville Humane Society needs our help! šŸšØ

The catastrophic damage from Hurricane Helene has overwhelmed the Asheville Humane Society, and countless animals are in desperate need of safety. Weā€™re partnering with BISSELL Pet Foundation to rescue as many pets as possible, but we canā€™t do it without your help!

We need emergency fosters to help us take in these animals! If youā€™ve never fostered before, thatā€™s okay! Fostering is completely freeā€”Forsyth Humane Society will provide you with all of the supplies you might need to help care for one of these animals. Every foster home we can secure is another life we can save! šŸ¾ā¤ļø

If you can step up to help us out, please email [email protected] with the subject line ā€œHurricane Helene Fosterā€, or check forsythhumane.org/foster for incoming animals. THANK YOU for your willingness to help and your dedication to animals in need. Please share this post to help us reach as many fosters as possible!

ā€œA horse is a horse, of course, of course, And no one can talk to a horse of course That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mr. Ed.ā€
ā€œGo right to the source and ask the horse Heā€™ll give you the answer that youā€™ll endorse Heā€™s always on a steady course Talk to Mr. Ed!ā€
ā€œPeople yak-it-ti-yak a streak and waste your time of day, but Mister Ed will never speak, unless he has something to sayā€¦ A horse is a horse, of course of course, And this one will talk 'til his voice is hoarse.ā€
ā€œYou never heard of a talking horse? Well, listen to thisā€¦ I am Mister Ed.ā€

When Mr. Ed was tired of working, he would simply walk off the set. The horse would only respond to his trainer, Lester Hilton, and ignored his co-stars. As a result, Hilton had to be present on set at all times, issuing commands either verbally or through hand signals. Mr. Edā€™s voice was kept a well-guarded secret, but it was actually provided by Allan Lane, a former cowboy star.
This show was one of the rare television series to begin in syndication before being picked up by a major network. In an interview, Alan Young mentioned that his natural hair color was dark blond. However, in black-and-white film, his hair blended too much with Mr. Edā€™s color. To make him stand out, the makeup artist had Connie Hines' hairdresser dye his hair dark. Once the show ended, Young allowed his hair to return to its natural shade. The theme song was originally sung by Jay Livingston as a demo, with the intention of having a professional singer re-record it. However, the producers liked Livingstonā€™s vocals so much that they decided to keep his version for the show.

A picture that truly speaks volumes...From our human perspective we can see a beautiful environment with green grass and elegant white fences, but if we just look closer from our horses' point of view instead...Well, then everything changes. Then we see how desperately they try to remain next to each other, no matter their inability to touch either, then we see where the grass just doesn't grow anymore, evidencing so clearly where they always remain to be together as much as they physically can...Please, horses are herd animals, horses are social animals, they are meant to be together, as it's just where their sense of safety and peace comes from. There's absolutely no way to change it, there's no way to pretend not to know it. If we can only keep our horses alone then I'm sorry but we just cannot have them šŸ’š
