I took this photo yesterday.

Five years ago I could never have dreamed of taking this photo - collaborating with people I adore in spaces I find breathtaking in moments I felt confident I could capture. It was beyond imagination.

And when I showed the image on the back of my camera to Ben, who I’ve come to adore as a skilled horseman and generous friend, he felt the impact of the image as well - but in a much different way.

It took some time for me to articulate how this photo makes me feel, but Ben immediately defined all the ways it represented his journey - riding a horse he is fond of with skills he has worked so hard to hone in an arena he dreamed about as a young rider.

And in that moment I realized a single photo has the ability to elicit different emotions for different reasons.

For some this image may motivate them towards a goal. For others it may be something to dream about on a rainy day. For me it brings an incredible amount of pride in my work. And while I can’t speak for Ben, I think it recalls plenty of emotion as well.

Photos that tell so many stories to so many souls, each with a different ending, are images I want to create.

I’m continually amazed at the lessons photography teaches me. I can’t wait to see what images come five years from now.

Barn Hand Position Available
22+ horses
Barn hand position chores include, but not limited to, handling horses from the ground, dressing horses for turnout, turning out and bringing back in, cleaning stalls and feed/water buckets, cleaning stall walls, dusting/cobwebbing and some grounds keeping. We have a core group of individuals currently working that pride themselves on maintaining a happy, clean and safe environment for our horses and clients.
We will be working 5 1/2 days a week totaling around 45 hours a week. Hours are 7am to 4pm generally. Must have AT LEAST TWO YEARS horse experience. Private room in shared housing may be available for the right individual.

Barn Hand Position Available
**This job does not entail riding in any capacity and limited grooming opportunities.**
Barn hand position chores include, but not limited to, handling horses from the ground, dressing horses for turnout, turning out and bringing back in, cleaning stalls and feed/water buckets, cleaning stall walls, dusting/cobwebbing and some grounds keeping. We have a core group of individuals currently working that pride themselves on maintaining a happy, clean and safe environment for our horses and clients. We are about to add 10-12 horses to the barn at the end of April which is why we are looking for the right individual to join our team. If the right person can show an aptitude for ordering materials such as feed, shavings and straw, hay, barn supplies, etc., and shows great communication skills both in person and on the phone then an assistant manager position is coming available as well. Regardless of the position, we will be working 5 1/2 days a week totaling around 45 hours a week. Hours are 7am to 4pm generally. Must have AT LEAST TWO YEARS horse experience. Private room in shared housing may be available for the right individual.

Riveredge is offering the opportunity for an individual to fill a full time position on our staff working at our beautiful training facility in Chesapeake City, MD.
We are looking for an individual who is a hard working, self starting horse person willing to be part of our team! Duties include ( but not limited to ) turn in/out, cleaning stalls and buckets, tidying the barn while keeping safety, team work and professionalism a priority. Must have at least two full years of horse handling experience and must be able to work 40+ hours a week including either a Saturday or Sunday.
Private room in shared housing available for the right person.
