Our Tally-Go QRCS is designed to provide the handler the ability to walk your dog to the line and release them using one hand while standing upright behind your dog. You can also sit, kneel, lay down or take whatever other position you prefer at the start line when using our collar.

There are multiple methods to using our collar safely. Experiment with the collar and your dog to find your best fit.

One advantage of our Tally-Go QRCS is that it does not require the handler to be in the dogs personal space. Your dog has complete focus at the start without interference. Some dogs are reactive to their handlers so our collar system is perfect for those dogs who like their space and/or prefer not being touched at the start.

Another advantage to our collar is that you can use your second FREE hand to relax (hold your water bottle), handle the collar/leash in a second position (at the neck or on the leash), hold your dogs belly/chest/flank just to name a few options.

We recognize and respect that our Tally-Go QRCS is not everyone's choice as a quick release collar.

We strive to make our custom collars to meet the needs of each customer and we enjoy the challenge. We have made leashes longer/shorter, made double release collars (for a commercial) and also made a "shoulder wrap" release collar for a dog with a previously broken neck.

Basic Instructions for using the Tally-Go QRCS collar:

Place the collar around the dogs neck with the logo on the inside (like a t-shirt label) against the dogs neck.

Locate the pin (in the black box).

Pull this pin upwards by grasping the cable just above the black box.

Pull the pin upwards enough to allow room for the D-Ring on the collar to slide into the mouth of the black box.

Lower the pin while allowing it to fall inside the collar D-ring so that the collar is secured on the dogs neck.

Place the cable loop on your dominant wrist.

Grasp the handle with the same hand that has the cable loop. The handle acts as a "brake" so the dog is not released until you are ready. It is important to maintain a comfortable but tight grip on the handle until you are ready to release your dog. Maintain your grip on the handle so that may walk your dog to the starting area/line.

To release your dog, simply release your grip on the handle by opening your hand so that it gently but quickly allows the handle to fall out of your hand. DO NOT pull the cable forcefully backwards. Forceful pulling of the leash will cause the collar and leash to sling into the air and may hit yourself or a by-stander!

As you release the handle, the cable loop will be tightened on your wrist as the dog pulls.

As the cable tightens, the pin inside the black box will lift and allow the D-ring to slip out of the pin.

The collar will fall away from the dogs neck as the dog moves forward.

If your dog does NOT pull: Simply drop the handle , then if the dog does not pull to release the collar, you can GENTLY pull backwards with your arm/hand that has the cable loop attached. This will tighten the cable enough to release the pin/D-ring from the collar and your dog can run free.

Always be safe and ensure that you are familiar with how this collar works.

Practice using the collar at home and while you are watching TV: Set the collar up on your foot so that you can practice dropping the handle while "pushing the collar" away with your foot.

Quick release collars offer the handler ability to release their dog to run races whether it is CAT, FAST CAT, Field Trials or other events. Our goal was to fabricate a better way for handling quick release of our dogs at racing events. After many designs and welcomed constructive criticism, our design works flawlessly for a quick efficient release. Our Quick Release Collar System (QRCS) can be used with one or two hands while standing or sitting versus the traditional style collar that requires two hands and leaning over the dog to release them. If you are able to handle two dogs at the start, one person can use our collars to manage their timely release. Our QRCS incorporates a leash, a collar and a spring pin for easier handling, faster release, and allows efficient forward movement of the dog at the start. Once you have used our QRCS, you and your dog will forever love it.
