Here's a few litter box tips for our kitty parents! Cats prefer a quiet spot to go to the bathroom, avoid putting their litter boxes in high traffic areas. The litter box should be large enough so the cat can comfortably turn around without touching the sides of the box. Scoop the box at least once a day, cats prefer to go into a box that is clean and does not smell. Ensure you have enough litter boxes, you should have enough litter boxes for each cat plus one. If your fur baby is having issues using their litter box, give MyVet a call to get scheduled!

Ear infections are one of the most common types of infections in dogs. Often, an underlying problem causes the normal protective barrier in a dog’s ear to stop working properly. Once the ear becomes moist or inflamed, it's easy for bacteria or yeast to overgrow and cause an infection. The most common reasons for ear infections are from food/environmental allergies or excessive moisture from bathing and swimming. Cookout safety 101! Make sure your pet CAN’T escape! Make guests aware to close doors/gates completely to avoid an escape. Avoid giving pets table scraps! This can lead to pancreatitis, inflammation of the pancreas which causes vomiting and/or diarrhea. Keep your pets away from fires or grills to avoid any accidental burns. Avoid over exposure to the heat, give your pets plenty of shaded areas, a/c, and water to prevent heat strokes. Lock your pet up during any loud noises such as fireworks or music to avoid anxiety and any potential runaways.
