Snow, Snow, Here We Go!

With the impending weather through the day Wednesday and into Thursday please help us help you!

- Everyone with appointments Thursday should have been contacted for rescheduling. Friday's appointments are likely to be rescheduled pending snow amounts and how fast the roads get cleared up (or not 😵‍💫)

- The office will be open to start Wednesday but may close early if snow begins accumulating to help get everyone home safely. The office will be closed Thursday +/- Friday as the roads dictate. If you need prescriptions or any other administrative questions please call Wednesday morning or it may be next week before we can assist.

-We will have a veterinarian on call to serve emergencies as best as we can. This is the important part:

IF YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE HAVING AN ISSUE PLEASE DO NOT WAIT TO CALL!!!

- If we can help triage over the phone and prevent an issue, fantastic.

- If we need to travel to the farm, it will obviously take significantly longer than usual. Please do not wait for something to progress to dire circumstances to call!

Here's to warm blankets, soupy mashes and lots of horse p**p to get us through the winter wonderland!

Break time! In an effort to achieve some quality work-life-family balance we added a few holidays to our schedule this year. In addition to the traditional Memorial/4th/Labor days in the summer and Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year's in the winter, we are adding Presidents day and Columbus Day to the rotation.

As luck would have it, there is a snow storm predicted next week as well.

Accordingly, the office will be closed on Monday for Presidents Day and we will have no regularly scheduled appointments. We will have a veterinarian on call for any emergencies that may arise. If the inclement weather arrives as predicted next week we will likely have a modified schedule as necessary.

If you have any treatment, prescription or scheduling questions, please don't delay in communicating to minimize issues!

Happy February! A quick reminder that this is the last month of our Dental Health Discount. If you haven't already called to schedule your float appointment, please contact the office to get on the books before the month flies by. Due to the snow and slippery roads, the office will be closed on Wednesday, January 22. The few regular appointments remaining will unfortunately need to be rescheduled and we will do our best to contact you for notification through the morning. We will have a veterinarian on call to help with necessary emergencies. Please call the emergency phone at 757-375-8844. Please note this is the emergency number, calls with blatant non emergency requests will be charged an emergency fee

As always, any non emergency messages left on the main number will returned as soon as possible in the next few days as mother nature allows us to return to normal service. Enjoy the snow and everyone stay safe!

Happy New Year to all! A reminder that January and February are our dental health months here at Coastal Equine. We offer a 10% discount for all floats plus sedation that are scheduled during these months. Give our helpful office staff a call to get your appointment set up soon as these slots generally fill quickly.
Also, don't forget to sign up for your HMO for 2025. Open enrollment is available until April 30 or your spring appointment, whichever comes first. We are happy to answer any questions about our programs for you to help you find the right one for your equine companions.
