🐾 Mewmue is Ready for Her Forever Home! 🐾

After winning over every heart in our hospital, our sweet resident kitty Mewmue is officially ready for adoption! 💕

Mewmue is a 10-year-old, spayed female with the softest medium-length fur and a gentle soul to match. She’s been an absolute angel during her time with us, and now that she’s received a clean bill of health—including up-to-date vaccinations and perfect routine lab work—she’s ready to find her forever family.

We believe Mewmue will thrive best as the only pet in a calm, loving home where she can soak up all the attention.

Interested in meeting her? Give us a call to apply or DM us and come say hello to this lovely lady in person! 🐱❤️

🚨 HEAT STROKE WARNING FOR PETS 🚨

As temps continue to climb this week, it’s critical to remember: heat stroke in pets can come on fast—and it can be deadly.

🌡️ Early signs to watch for:

▪Bright red gums or tongue
▪Excessive panting or drooling
▪Rapid or labored breathing

If not addressed, these can escalate to:
⚠️ Muscle tremors
⚠️ Seizures
⚠️ Dizziness or stumbling
⚠️ Collapse or even loss of consciousness
⚠️ Possible death

🐾 Prevention tips:
❌ Avoid walking your pet between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM—this is the hottest part of the day, and pavement can burn paws fast.
✅ If you must be outside, keep walks brief, stay in cool, shaded areas, and bring plenty of water.
🌡️ Ideal Walking Temps: For most breeds, it's generally safe to walk them in temperatures up to 68°F. However, always adjust based on your pet’s breed, age, and any known health conditions, as some pets are more sensitive to heat than others.

Let’s keep our furry friends safe this summer—if you suspect heat stroke, seek emergency care immediately. 💛🐶🐾

🐾 Not all pets love coming to the vet—and that’s okay! That’s why we’re proud to take a Fear Free approach to every visit. 🧡

We know vet visits can be stressful for some pets, so we do everything we can to create a calm, positive experience. Our Fear Free methods can include:

✨ Using species-specific calming pheromones in our clinic
🤝 Involving you in the exam process to help your pet feel safe and supported
🏥 Offering “happy visits”—low-stress, no-pressure trips just to say hi and build confidence
🎵 Creating a soothing, quiet environment with gentle handling
🍖 And of course—treats, treats, and more treats! Because calories don’t count at the vet… for pets or humans! 😉

Our goal is to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress so every visit feels a little easier. Because when your pet is relaxed, everyone wins. 🐶🐱💕

Little Man came in for a pneumonia progress check—but surprise! He’d swallowed a screw 😳 (feeling better enough to get into mischief, clearly). Thanks to his amazing foster mom and rescue team, he was back the next day for surgery and sailed through it like a champ. With Kaitlin on recovery duty, he got expert care and top-tier cuddles. 💛🐶🛠️

Exciting news! He is ready for adoption! 🐾 If you’ve been waiting for the perfect pup, apply at Rottweiler Hearts Rescue—Little Man is in great hands with them, and they go above and beyond for every dog in their care. 💛 We’ve had the honor of helping care for their fosters over the years, and it’s always a team effort full of heart.

Behind every healthy pet is a dedicated team of veterinary professionals — veterinarians, vet techs, assistants, receptionists, and support staff — who pour their hearts into this demanding field. But what many don’t see is the emotional weight that comes with the job.

The veterinary community faces one of the highest su***de rates of any profession. The compassion, long hours, emotional toll, and financial pressures can be overwhelming.

✨ It’s SO important to make time outside of practicing medicine, support one another, and truly cherish the moments you share with your team — because those connections are just as vital as the care you give. 💙

💛 To all those in vet med: You are seen. You are valued. Your mental health matters.
💛 To the rest of us: Let’s listen, support, and help break the stigma around mental health in veterinary care.

If you're struggling, please reach out. You are not alone. Not now. Not ever.
