Help Restock Our Pet Pantry!

We are so grateful for the incredible generosity shown over the holidays, but as the needs of our community grow, our Pet Pantry shelves are quickly emptying.

Right now, we are in urgent need of dry dog food to support families and their furry friends. Best Options: Store brands like Purina or Pedigree are ideal, but all unopened bags are appreciated.

🐾 🎉 Get Ready for the 3rd Annual CHS Slumber Pawty! 🎉 🐾

Mark your calendars for April 5th-6th, 2025 because the pawtiest night of the year is back at our Adoption Center! This nationwide event has already raised over $884,000 to support shelter pets, and we’re ready to add even more to that total with your help!

For 24 hours, participants will live, sleep, and play alongside our adoptable pets, providing them with companionship, comfort, and love while raising crucial funds for CHS's lifesaving programs.

As the winter storm rolls in, we want to remind pet parents of the dangers that rock salt poses to your furry friends:
Cuts & Irritation: Rock salt is sharp and can cut or irritate your pet's paw pads, potentially causing pain and even chemical burns.

Toxic if Ingested: If your pet licks their paws or eats rock salt, it could lead to dehydration, vomiting, diarrhea, and in severe cases, even more serious reactions.

Mouth Burns: Eating rock salt can cause painful burns inside your pet's mouth.

How to Protect Your Pet:
✅ Rinse your pet's paws with warm water and Dawn dish soap after coming inside.
✅ Use dog shoes or booties to shield sensitive paws.
✅ Stay vigilant on walks and avoid areas heavily treated with rock salt.

After walks, always wipe your pet’s paws with a damp cloth to remove any salt or ice. Let’s keep those paws safe and tails wagging this winter! ❄️🐶🐾

Dear Santa,

My name is Lunar Eclipse, and I’ve been a very good kitty this year! I’ve been practicing my graceful leaps and showing my playful side to everyone who visits me. I even climbed all the way to the top of the cat tree—pretty impressive, right?

This year, my wish is to find a forever family who will love me for the shy but sweet girl I am. I dream of cozy evenings watching the stars through the window, playing with wand toys, and snuggling up in a warm lap when I’m feeling brave.

I promise to bring light and joy to my new family, just like my name suggests. I’m waiting patiently at Pet Supplies Plus in Great Bridge—maybe you can deliver my wish soon?

Meet Pumpkin, a beautiful orange tabby who’s ready to find her purr-fect home for the holidays. This sweet 4-year-old girl is as warm and comforting as her name suggests. She loves curling up in cozy spots, sunbathing by the window, and spending time with her humans.

Pumpkin has previously lived with both cats and dogs, and while she’s done well, we’ve learned that a calm environment where she feels safe and supported is key to her success. She thrives when she has plenty of litter box options and a little time to settle in—it’s all about setting her up for success!

Our team will work closely with Pumpkin’s adopter to ensure her transition is smooth and that her needs are met. Her adoption includes counseling to help her feel right at home in your heart and your home.
