8th-10th graders can stop by the Yellow House before the home football game with their friends, hang out, watch TV or a movie, or play video and board games. Eat pizza, and stay until the game starts. Then walk over with their friends to the game at CHS with a warm cup of hot cocoa to go!

Friday Home Games
10/04 vs. No. Haven
10/25 vs. Hand
11/01 vs. Notre Dame

5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
(Games start at CHS @ 7:00pm)

Cost: FREE (for yellow house & pizza)
* * * Your child will need money to get into the football game * * *

Pizza will be ordered at 5:45pm based on who is there at that time.
(Pizza & hot cocoa will be served, online registration encouraged to make sure we have enough food each game)

(please note: Yellow House staff will NOT be attending the game or chaperoning the kids that attend the "pit stop" - our staff will make sure they use the cross walk to get to CHS area safely. Parents are responsible for communicating with their children to make sure they are at the game as intended and to arrange an appropriate pick-up spot that is convenient for them after the game - the Yellow House will close at 8:00pm, no staff will be onsite after the game).

We need more K & 1st graders to enroll to prevent cancellation of the program. We also need more teen volunteers to sign up to be reading buddies for the program, and for our S.L.A.M.M. program too. If we cancel this Youth Literacy it would be the 2nd time in 15 years we had to make that unfortunate decision :-(

We have low enrollment for the Youth Literacy ; Community Helpers Series that starts this Saturday, October 5th. If we do not reach our enrollment minimum, we unfortunately will have to cancel the program. If you know of anyone who might be interested in signing up please direct them to our registration page. Financial assistance/reduced fee is available to families that qualify, contact our office to learn more 203-271-6690

Teen Volunteers are needed for our Fall Youth Enrichment programs starting in October. If your 8th-12th grader is available Saturday mornings or afternoons this Fall we invite them to volunteer for the Youth Literacy Program or the new S.L.A.M.M. program that focuses on Science, Literacy, Art, Math & More.

Volunteers will receive community service hours.

Through fun group activities, conversations, arts & crafts (girls rock), outdoor games etc. weekly topics will focus on building confidence, improving communication, finding supportive friendships, conflict resolution strategies, respect and healthy living.

R.I.S.E. for 4th & 5th grade boys meets on Mondays 3:45-5:45pm
runs Oct. 21st - Dec. 16th

Girls Rock! for 5th & 6th graders meets Wednesdays 3:45-5:45pm

Tonight's the night! RAMS vs. Fitch

8th-10th graders can stop by the Yellow House before the home game for pizza and to hang out with friends, then they can walk over to watch the game together.
Yellow House will be open 5:30-8:00pm, games start at 7:00pm

Please add your child's name to the game day so that we have a count when we order the pizza.

Registration open for our returning Youth Literacy Program; Community Helper series. Open to Kindergarten & 1st graders.

Saturday mornings for 7 weeks young readers will explore different jobs in the community with their teen reading buddies through themed books, crafts and activities. We'll have weekly visits from a Police Officer, Firefighter, Veterinarian, Dental Student and a Halloween themed day too.

Spots are limited to 15 kids and offered first to those that have not previously participated in this series.
