We are looking for weekend help in our rehab! Hours are 7-4 with some flexibility for the right individual. Duties include grooming, putting horses on the water treadmill and other machines, making grain, feeding, and general barn chores. Pickering Equine Veterinary Services is seeking a full-time equine veterinary technician. Qualified candidates must be reliable, attentive and thrive in a fast paced environment. Perfect opportunity for someone to gain valuable sports medicine experience. License is not required. Would prefer someone with extensive equine handling experience, but most importantly someone who wants to learn.

Major Duties Include but not limited to:
• Administer Medications and IV/IM Shots to Patients
• Preparing instruments, proper sterilization
• Maintain accurate client/patient records and notes
• Assist in diagnostic imaging procedures
• Assist with Laser and Shockwave
• Communicate effectively and appropriately with the clients
• Attend approximately 6 horse shows per year
• Travel to Florida January - April
• Equine handling, jogging, and holding
• Daily Travel on ambulatory calls
• Operate Vet Truck

Salary and benefits dependent on experience and education.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, some Saturdays, 7:00 AM -4:00 PM

*** Hiring for Office Manager Position***
Pickering Equine is an equine veterinary practice and rehabilitation facility that is seeking a full time or part time office manager. Applicants must have a working knowledge of Quickbooks and Microsoft Office, as well as the ability to learn integrative veterinary software. The office manager is responsible for answering the phone, taking payments, ordering of inventory, organizing billing and reviewing veterinary practice and facility paperwork. Customer service and social media experience is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

Communication
The office manager handles day-to-day communications of the barn workers, office, clients and Dr. Batchelor. Answer calls and emails accordingly. Everything must be communicated effectively and efficiently to Dr. Batchelor and other staff members. Positive attitude is a must.

Financial
The office manager is responsible for the Quickbooks account. Invoices must be created and sent out by the first of the month. Office manager receives payments from clients, enters them in Quickbooks and then deposits checks in the bank. Also responsible for paying and mailing outgoing payments in a timely manner.

Rehabilitation
The office manager is the keystone in the communication chain between the barn workers, customers and Dr. Batchelor. This individual will be responsible for organizing, with Dr. Batchelor and the barn manager, the rehab, and employee schedules.

General Office
The office managers keeps the office organized and running efficiently. The office manager tracks office and barn inventory and runs errands to replenish supplies accordingly. Also, oversees barn and office equipment and is responsible for scheduling repairs and maintenance as needed.

Typical work activities
• Filing of paperwork
• Organizes the office layout and maintains supplies of stationary and equipment
• Assists in the recruitment of new staff, phone screenings and scheduling of trial days
• Pay bills
• Create and send out bills to clients
• Maintain up to date insurance policies and warranties on: business, health care and equipment

Part Time/ Full Time:
Pickering Equine is an established Rehabilitation Facility, specializing in performance horses. We offer competitive pay and we are looking for either a part time or full time employee depending upon the individual.

Stable Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Grooming, bathing, feeding, and mucking

Rehabilitation related tasks include:
- Hand walking, Aqua tread-milling, dry tread-milling, and basic first aid

We provide a high level of care for the horses here and the continuance of that will be expected.
Reliable transportation will be needed for the winter.
