Noah's Ark Rescue Project and Sanctuary - aka NARPS

This $5 Friday we are sharing a little different of a story in efforts to raise funds to continue our lifesaving mission.

You may remember Amarok & R***r, a father and son pair who joined us from rural Mississippi early this year. A kind rescuer saved their lives, assisted with getting them healthy (heartworm injections for Amarok, vaccines & neuters) before hoping to find rescue up north to give them their best chance to know forever love and safety. Sadly when their shot at freedom failed and the rescue never came for them, we were fortunate enough to step in without question to get them to us. We couldn’t be the second rescue to leave them behind 💔

While boarding is never a plan for a dog, and an $$expensive$$ option, it sometimes is the only we face when a foster is unable to commit. As many fellow rescuers know, once a pup is in boarding it feels often near impossible to get them out. A bonded pair? Even harder. We pled for foster week after week afterrr week but sadly no one was open to taking on the daunting task of two. While we could have attempted to separate them, and did offer, they were continued to be passed over 💔 For six months this duo patiently waited, while well cared for and happy, they deserved a home. .. Then along came a special adopter looking to take the chance and save a pair. Something they have always done! It has been love, sunbathing and lots of naps since 🫶🏼

Rescue these days feels quite impossible. Summer is always the hardest time of year, but this year in from start has been the hardest. Great, “perfect” dogs are sitting in care, unable to find foster or committed adopters and face homelessness and their life at risk. Purebreds frequent surrender requests more than mixes. We recieve by the dozen, nearly by the hour. It seems for every one pittie request, there are 10-15 husky, shepherds and mastiffs to go with it. Not every pup is as lucky as the two shared here and get the chance to find safety. Their happy updates tell us it was well worth it.

Amarok & R***r’s story is a reminder of “why” we do it. Some saves require a little more risk, expense and stress but with patience, fundraising and a little bit of extra prayer, we continue.

Theo is a 4 year old Presa Canario mastiff who identifies as a tiger. We really would love to move him to an adoptive home. This handsome lug is about 100+ pounds, good looks with smarts to match!

🐯Theo is dog friendly and previously lived with cats. He has also met some spicy felines at the vet office and hid behind foster mama. He will happily entertain play with his canine foster siblings but also down to lounge with them too. He has done well with dogs of various sizes and temperaments.

🐯Theo enjoys going for walks and walks well on leash. He would rather lay around and toss his stuffies around but will entertain your fitness goals if requested.

🐯Theo knows basic commands such as sit and down. He is food motivated but does come with a price.. drool 🤣 he also loves to talk and be silly.

🐯Theo is routinely crated at night, as well as during the day when foster mom is at work. He spends a lot of his time napping and enjoys his crate as a safe space!

🐯Theo is a guardian, XL breed. Perro de Presa Canario are loyal and protective by nature. He will need boundaries, routine and clear rules. He is hoping for an asoptee ready to be a leader and set him up for success from the get-go. UPDATE: FOSTER FOUND

Ike is est. 18 months to 2 years old and about 20 lbs. Very loving, happy go lucky boy who adores attention and being loved on. He’s submissive and gets his feelings hurt when corrected for any reason. He wants to be a lap dog. He’s pretty good on leash with some minor pulling when something gets his attention. He’s energetic and loves his walks and to do zoomies around the yard. Unclaimed stray from WV. He loves his temporary Pittie housemate.

Ike has received his vaccines and has gotten a full vet exam and is ready to travel. All he needs is a soft spot to land. Fosters get first option to adopt.

Clementine is ready for her retirement suite 🏰👸🏻 this granny comes with s***k and sweetness. She would certainly not know she had BINGO if playing and would likely lose her glasses around her neck if she had them. She is* however friendly with everyone she meets, dog, human and feline 🫶🏼

Clementine will *definitely* make someone late for work every morning because she started another staring contest with the fence panel... and she isn't willing to lose just because you think you have somewhere more important to be. Clem also plays dead by standing still with her eyes open in front of the steps hoping you’ll carry her up 🤭

Clementine is approximately a 9 year old Bully and just hits 40 pounds. She is crate and house trained, and.. can walk on a leash.. if she has too 👵🏼 she will willingly participate in a half of a zoomie a day before another nap. Clementine participated in a mammary study, along with dental and spay with our friends at U Penn and received green light to apply for her retirement plan. She’s been crashing in foster but sure would love a forever couch of her own 🧡

NARPS has quite a bit of puppies growing up in foster homes. These innocent babies were all saved from horrific conditions or dangerous fates. Whether they were dumped on a sidewalk, abandoned by their owners, or left to fend for themselves in a box on a porch. No dog should be put in these situations, let alone helpless little babies. They have all learned what it means to be loved and they all deserve to find their forever family to share that love with. Many of their siblings have found their happily fur-ever afters and now it’s their turn!

He is a 5 1/2 month old mix. His DNA results showed he is primarily Pittie/Shepherd. He is crate and house trained and walks well on a leash. He loves people, dogs, and has even met a few cats! He’s super smart and eager to learn and he loves to play!

He came to us at 7 weeks, as part of our Christmas litter and now he is a 7 month old collie/hound mix. He is house and crate trained. He is fostered with children and other dogs and he did well meeting a cat! This boy is the last of his litter still looking for a home.

Adopt Polo! What's it like having a Polo? Imagine being in charge of a chimpanzee on methamphetamines who is allergic to sleep. 🤭

If you enjoy raking leaves during a hurricane or eating oreros while you are brushing your teeth, Polo might be your mans! He may be paralyzed, but he is far from broken. 🫶🏼

Polo is a 2 year old French Bulldog looking for a human tall enough to ride his emotional roller coaster. 🎢 He will make you question weather you are running an insane asylum… or if you belong in one.

He has IVDD, and he can still get into trouble faster than a human toddler. His favorite hobbies are playing fetch and shredding his foster momas toilet paper. 🧻

Polo loves other dogs and would love to have a four legged partner in crime in his forever home. He may be a pain in the @$$, but he is a very sweet pain in the @$$ and should be fine in a home with kids. He does have a set of wheels… but he truely doesn’t need them to wreck your house! 🦽

Please join us in welcoming our newest baby to NARPS

Polar Bear was owned by an elderly gentleman who faced some significant medical difficulties, and was no longer able to care for his beloved dog.

Sadly in many rural southern counties the only shelters are outside only

Polar Bear found himself living in an outdoor kennel, but, only for a short while

Once we learned of his plight we immediately said yes

This playful boy came off of transport bouncing around, wagging his tail, and giving all the cuddles.

He is safely with his foster and the first order of business is a very long hot bath.

We are deeply grateful for everyone involved who facilitated getting this boy to us safely where he no longer has to live in an outdoor kennel all alone.

Polar Bear has put his past behind him and is looking forward to a happy life with a new forever family

Polar Bear is estimated to be 1-2 years old and still has a lot of playful puppy energy.

We are most deeply grateful to one of our amazing fosters who immediately said yes, and opened her home and heart to this boy in need.

Our 10 little bundles of Adorableness made it safely through the rain with deepest thanks to all the volunteer drivers.

The babies are all safe and snuggling in their foster homes.

It has been another crazy week of expenses - between our routine vetting, new intakes and a few who were in need of some emergency services/specialist appointments, we are in need to replenish funds to keep the caravan moving 🐪 We are asked all week, every day, every hour to take more animals in need. We only can do so with *foster homes* and *funds* to support them during their time with NARPS.

Miss Mallory is joining us tomorrow! She has somewhere to temporarily hang so we could urgently get her out of her shelter but is seeking a foster or foster-to-adopt placement ASAP!

Mallory is a 55 pound 2 year old English Bulldog. She has been reported to do well with children, cats and dogs. All dogs deserve slow, appropriate introductions. Foster must be able to give Mallory a separate space away from other animals in the home as she adjusts to her new scenes.

Theo is friendly with all people, has done well with children and dogs of various genders/sizes/temperaments. Theo also previously lived with cats. He is smart and eager to please. He will work for your love, a big lazy dude, but also goofy and social.. and loves to talk!

While both good looks and a social butterfly, Theo is a guardian breed dog. He will need a leader and boundaries to set him up for success. A free for all, anxiety ridden state of mind is not going to fly. A million walks and puzzles a day does not equal a fulfilled dog. A tired dog is just that — a tired dog. Theo’s foster mom set clear rules, boundaries and expectations for him from the start and he has learned to follow them beautifully. Theo knows some basic commands, walks well on leash, is routinely crated and knows a yes/no marker. He loves to snuggle on the couch, go for car rides and chew bones in his free time!

Theo is fully vetted, including neuter, microchip,m and vaccines. He is awesome dog & a loyal one by nature. Also naturally drools… a lot 🤭 we are requiring an adopter with guardian/working breed experience to ensure he is set up for best success.

We know there is a mastiff loving home out there for this princess. She is as sweet as she is loving, and surely will keep you on your toes, too!

Zara came to us at 5 months old in April 2023. She is a purebred Dogo Argentino, and an absolute doll baby. Over the course of the last year several applicants backed out on her because she is deaf. It seems humans panic when they hear the word “deaf”. There is nothing wrong with this sweet dog other than she is attracting applicants with unrealistic expectations or applicants that exaggerate their experience. She is now 1.5 years old. 😞

Zara loves water, going swimming and sunbathing with her best buds. She loves to burrow under a blanket and share the bed with her humans. Zara has also done well with older children & dogs! She requires a bit of a slower introduction to resident dogs, but we promise slow and steady is worth it. Zara does not care that shes deaf, it doesn’t hold her back from living her very best life & having fun!

Zara will need a *guardian breed experienced owner*. Dogo Argentino’s need a ton of physical and mental stimulation to keep them out of trouble!🤭** No cats or small dogs no exceptions **

Zara is a fun girl! She loves mud, convertible rides, swimming, ball pits, her pack of dog friends, claiming top bunk, and standing on the dresser to check herself out in the mirror! 🤣

We truely adore this special girl, but there are many Dogo Argentino’s at risk in shelters whoes lives are depending on an experienced foster to take a chance on them. Zara also deserves to be loved and adored by a family who appreciates and loves her.. and it just hasn’t come along yet 💔

Yes, we are being a bit picky with who we will send her off with… but we just can’t see her let down again.🥺

A big NARPS welcome to Jasmine (b/w) and Aladdin(calico)!
These two cuties were spotted in a good Samaritans backyard 😲 It took her a couple of days but she was able to catch them and get them to us.
They were both scared, hot and dehydrated and are also very underweight so they will be hanging at one of our foster homes for several weeks before they're avaliable for adoption.
