Finally it’s here!!
We’ve frequently been asked about a soup mix, and I’ve tried (unsuccessfully) many times. Till now. I love it when a plan comes together. This soup mix takes 30 minutes to make, feeds 4-6, uses organic French lentils, and features a dried mushroom medley including oyster, shiitake, porcini & black trumpet. All you need is some water and olive oil.
We’re bringing it to Beacon tomorrow (weather permitting) and we are so excited! You can also order it online at www.4wallfarm.com and we’ll send it to you.

Getting ready for Beacon on Sunday-taste testing required. The combination of French lentils (a little peppery, meatier lentil) a mushroom medley including oyster, shiitake and crimini, fresh herbs and our Instant Umami stock make for a delicious hearty bowl of soup. Just what you need on a cold day. A special add on we discovered is an organic extra virgin olive oil from Arlotta food studio. We LOVE a food adventure. Ever grateful for all the inspiration around us.

Starting a healthy New Year with a healthy mushroom barley soup this Sunday. This one starts with a dried shiitake, green onion, garlic and ginger broth. Add in toasted pearl barley, fresh shiitake mushrooms, tomato paste, carrots and parsley for deep flavor. A spoonful of sour cream turns this simple soup into a comfort food. I think it might be a new recipe for the next cookbook!
Hot soup and fresh mushrooms, lions mane teas, and easy risotto mix will be in Beacon this coming Sunday.

A New Year’s Food Adventure! This week we really wanted to do something different- playing with our food so to speak. Have you ever had Frito Pie? Usually it is served in the bag itself, but it’s a little messy. Ours is made with a mushroom & tomato based sauce - our nacho mama’s nachos sauce, recipe on our website.

What a week! Despite losing power for 3 days (crew arrived at 11:00pm last night to fix it, filling the forest with floodlights-thanks for giving us back our heat O&R) we have again made it to Sunday and our favorite @beaconfarmersmarket. We have mushrooms for all the holiday meals, and two holiday dishes available as well as today’s Shroomwalla mushroom fusion food. 3 Cheese Mushroom Mac is one of our favorites and the Chestnut Mushroom Mince Pie is a wonderful holiday dessert. Running late(again), we hope to see you at the market!

Starting tomorrow (Nov 3rd), we will be serving different mushroom based dishes each week. Tomorrow it’s mushroom, kale & pumpkin soup and lion’s mane no-crab cake sandwiches. Sadly we won’t be in Chappaqua 9/28. So as a very special thing this Sunday, we will have wild mushroom medleys! It has been quite the food adventure exploring the flavors of these wild mushrooms: chanterelles, lobster mushrooms, and chicken of the woods. We’ve discovered new ways to enjoy new mushrooms!
