The Dogs Bunker has officially PCSed to Fort Gregg-Adams in VA. We are super excited to be back in the state I grew up in!

A little about me! My name is Sarah, my husband serves in the military.I have two boys on the spectrum so working from home has allowed me the flexibility to be able to have a job and be able to have their medical needs met (attending therapy apts dr. Apts ect.) I have a Prynedoodle (Great Pyrenees/Standard poodle mix) named Sergeant (I bet you can probably tell who got to name him 🤪🤪🤪🤪)
I have been grooming dogs and cats for over 16 years now. Before that I spent over a year working in a boarding facility and managing their doggie day care! So a little over 17 years of experience with animals. Grooming is a passion of mine. It’s a hobby I get to call a job. Most people don’t get to do what they love so I’m happy that I get to. I have worked in corporate salons, boarding facilities, private salons and mobile grooming. Working at these places really opened my eyes to what it takes to give a pet the best experience I can possibly give them (now that can’t go without saying there are just some dogs who just absolutely hate it and that’s ok! ) but I do my best to try to make it as stress free as I can. I will give recommendations when needed. I don’t like to sugar coat things. If fluffy is biting me the whole groom. I will tell you. When your pet leaves my shop they are a reflection of my work. If his face looks bad because he was biting me while I tried to do it. I will let you know instead of letting you think fluffy was good and I did a bad job. Because if you take him somewhere else and they tell you he was biting you’re going to wonder what the difference was? I will also let you know if I see or feel anything concerning that may need vet attention!

I’ve added pictures of my pricing. Pricing is a round about est. its base off breed, weight and condition of coat. If you have a yorkie that’s 20lbs that’s more because that’s bigger than your average sized yorkie.

Doodle prices will vary by size and coats. Doodles are unique in a sense no one goldendoodle is the same. One can have a very dense tight curly coat, where another goldendoodle can have a soft wavy coat. The wavy coat is much easier and faster to work with then a goldendoodle with a dense coat.

PSA: We adopted our dog, Rowdy, from the shelter 5 years ago. He was already an adult dog, so we estimate he is about 11 or 12 years old at this point. I love this dog. He is the sweetest soul and my BFF. For the past week or so he hasn’t been acting like himself. He licked a raw spot on his foot. He was panting constantly. He was pacing. Sunday morning, the pacing and panting got so bad, and I was REALLY nervous that there was something seriously wrong with him. For 45 minutes, he panted like crazy and constantly paced back and forth. He was keeping his tail tucked down all the time. His ears were pinned back. He would not settle down and he wouldn’t eat. We tried everything. I ended up giving him a trazadone that he takes sometimes when he goes to the groomer. It seemed to take a little bit of the edge off, but not much. He still wouldn’t eat and still wouldn’t settle. I took off work on Monday so I could take him to the vet. We did bloodwork and x-rays. Knowing he is a senior dog, I was trying to prepare myself for the worst case scenario. I was glad to see his bloodwork was great except for some elevated liver enzymes. The x-rays showed he was a little backed up but no major issues. He got an anti-nausea injection and some Gabapentin to help with some tenderness in his back and to hopefully help keep him calm. When we got home, he was ok for a little bit, but eventually started pacing and panting again. We walked around the neighborhood for a long time and he used the bathroom a lot. He seemed pretty happy about that and was in good spirits until we got home and he refused to come back in the house. Every time I took him out that evening, he would hunker down like he didn’t want to come back in the house. When my vet called and I gave her the update, she suggested there may be some new electronic device in the house that was emitting a high frequency noise that is hurting his ears. We had just put new smart outlets in the house about a week ago. His pacing and panting were worse when the lamps were on, so I unplugged all the smart outlets. He stopped panting, stopped pacing, and ate his food. His tail was even up and wagging again. When I plugged the smart outlets all back in and asked Alexa to turn on the lamps, he immediately started panting and pacing again. My husband used an app to test the frequency of the smart outlets. It was off the charts. We've left the outlets unplugged for two days and have confirmed that it is definitely the smart outlets that are causing his stress and discomfort. He's back to being a totally normal dog now. I really thought this was the end for Rowdy based on the way he was acting. I am so thankful for Dr. Newell at BoonesCreek AnimalHospital for figuring out this simple solution. If your pets are exhibiting similar symptoms, you may want to consider checking your electronics first. I cannot express how relieved I am that he is ok now. 😭♥️🐶

Hello bunkers! We wanted to reach out and spread a little education if you didn’t know.
With the weather getting colder and the holidays coming up we are asking that if more then one person In Your household is sick regardless of what the Illness is, that you reschedule your apt.

Some people do not know that where dogs may not get sick from the virus or illnesses that we have. They do however carry them and spread those Illnesses.

In the shop we are not only loving up on your pet to insure them they are in a safe and caring space, we are also touching their cost and blowing it out which can blow out bacteria into the air.

We do clean with disinfectant after every apt, and at the end of night the shop is cleaned with a cleaning agent mixed with a very small amount of bleach and then water to make sure that we are killing any and all germs and virus that may be lingering around the shop and on the tools/table/tub/ and crates.

Both Izzie and I have been sick at lest twice since the beginning of September. There is ALOT of sickness going around from cold/flu/strep and Covid.

It is MUCH EASIER to reschedule and squeeze in one apt then it is to have to cancel an entire week and reschedule those apt asap. We want to make sure that all of our clients as well as us are able to have A happy and healthy holidays with our family and friends! And we want to be able to make sure we can get your furry loved ones cleaned up for whatever holiday it is you celebrate! Thank you all for your contained support and allowing us to love up on your fur babies!

Good evening bunkers! We hope everyone is enjoying their summers!
We wanted to pop in and let you know we will be MIA next week due to vacation. There are a few apts on the schedule for next week and your groomer will be here and will reach out with reminders and pick ups! We’ve been pretty busy these last few days! Thanks everyone for all the support and for patience with getting apts in. I am currently booked up till the Week of the 25th, that being said holidays are right around the corner and I have already had a few of you go ahead an book so I just want to throw it out there if you think you may want to get your baby groomed for the holidays I would make an apt. It’s easier to cancel an apt then it is to try to see if I have anything last minute.
Here are some of are new furry friends who have come to visit
