Crime: Petty Larceny
On Friday August 11th around 3pm, Bunny entered the office of CCACâs Shelter Coordinator under the false pretense of a lunch date. Bunny, however, had other plans.
Unbeknownst to shelter staff, Bunny had spotted a bag of goody bags for parties, events, and special occasions. While our staff was distracted with other tasks, Bunny stole not one but 12 milkbones out of the goody bags, leaving behind a trail of evidence. The alleged crime was captured on video.
Bunny immediately countered her charge of Larceny, stating that there was a severe lack of security for these items, which led her to believe they were free for anyone to take.
Bunnyâs logical and reasonable explanation has led CCAC staff to improve their security measures for party favors and snacks.
All charges against Bunny were dropped and she was instead rewarded with a soup bone for her hyper vigilance and dedication to office security.

You know what they say in the animal welfare field⌠When you have one medical case, you have multiple. Our beautiful girl, affectionately named Sunshineâs Baby after our legendary girl Sunshine, requires an FHO surgery to correct her painful leg injury. Her sweet smile and happy disposition would never make you think she is in pain, but it was a dead giveaway when she kept tripping due to her constantly wagging tail.
Baby will teeter from side to side when she walks, occasionally limping and revealing the pain she is enduring. Despite her discomfort, our little lady is as happy-go-lucky as they come and still does her best to run to greet us (though we discourage it!)

âPlay hard, nap harder.â - Naia
These pups joined the #NoChainGang today thanks to our awesome staff and a lot of help from our friends at Project Safe Pet! We spent our day building 3 ordinance compliant, safe runs for these sweet babies complete with secured water tubs, housing, and bedding. Not only were we greeted with very grateful happy pups, but their owner wore his gratitude on his face with tears in his eyes. ďżźThis might seem like a small accomplishment, but for this family it meant everything. Our hearts are so full knowing we could assist this family - with just a days work, we changed their whole lives.
Through our partnerships with amazing organizations like PSP, we are able to make life better for both the animals in Chester County as well as the residents.
The only thing we love more than helping and educating our community is seeing how happy these beautiful dogs are to be off a chain!

Thiccen Nugget is extra excited for her birthday party because our friends at Hobbs Nuts, LLC will be serving up some delicious boiled peanuts! One of our shelter partners refers to us as "the little animal shelter that could," and we are so proud to be living up to that name!
Although we are a small team of five, we have such a great network of support and we couldn't save as many lives without our rescue partners, advocates, volunteers, fosters, donors, and followers.
