Fleas and ticks are pretty prevalent this year! The best way to keep you, your pet and your home safe is through prevention!

Even if you're "starting from scratch" 😉 there are many things you can do to keep yourself free of these itch-hikers.

Fleas are the most commonly found parasite on pets, when they bite and take a blood meal this can cause intense itching and allergic reaction, and possibly cause more severe issues such as tapeworms, anemia and more.

Ticks, more prevalent every year in Michigan, can pass along diseases such as Lyme, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichiosis. It's not just woods and fields you'll find them in, you'll find them in flower beds, lawns and around wood chips/fire wood as well!

As someone with a dog who seems to always make friends with ticks every year, make sure your pets stay safe and aren't bringing any unwanted acquaintances into your home!
