So many thoughts and feelings about 2024 to share later. Right now though, we're celebrating the fact that we were able to squish 4 more adoptions into the end of the year, for a grand total of 58 adoptions.

It might be a small number compared to some rescues, but that's still a lot of lives saved, and a lot of good put into the world.

Happy new year. Have the best lives, babies. You deserve it! 🩷

How can you not fall in love with these faces!?

🐢1 of our puppies has a home lined up, but the other 3 are still looking for their forever families!

🐢Puppies are a lot of work, time, effort, and patience. But they're also so much joy, sweetness, silliness, and snuggles! Case in point, this photo was taken over Christmas when my very patient parents let me set up puppy camp in their bathroom so I could celebrate the holidays with my family and not stress. πŸ˜‚

🐢 Our puppies have been treated for fleas and parasites, seen by a vet, and have received age appropriate vaccines. They'll need more vaccines, which will be the responsibility of the adopter.

🐢 They're in foster homes with other dogs and are learning crate training, house training, and basic obedience. They are very new to all this and need adopters who are willing to help them work on these skills! It'll take time. :)

We've been in that holiday bubble enjoying time with our families, celebrating the holidays, not knowing what day it is, and existing on leftovers and candy from a stocking. Even rescuers need time off. πŸ₯°

I hope each of y'all have had a lovely holiday season, whatever you celebrate. And if it wasn't the best holiday, then I'm sending you a little hug.

There's still time to end your holiday on a positive note by adopting a kitten (or two)! We have so many still looking for homes, and we just know they'd love to start the new year in a new home.

McIntosh is pretty much the perfect kitten. He's sweet, social, silly, and s-playful (I had to keep the 's' theme going πŸ˜‚).

He needs a home with a warm lap he can snuggle up in constantly and an active kitty to play with and keep him busy.

He's fully vetted and fixed, and ready to go once we get an approved application.

If you want to add the most handsome lil guy to your home, apply ASAP!

🐾 Available for Adoption 🐾
Richmond, VA

🍁🐱 our basic fall litter is ready for adoption!!! Acorn (m), Maple (f), Autumn (f), & Cider (m) are looking for forever homes!

🐱 These kittens have been raised in an amazing foster home and are ready to take over the world! Or at least your home and hearts. 😘

🍁Maple🍁
Sweet and a little shy. Needs a little time to warm up, but don't let the grompy face fool you, she's all about cuddling. Chirps instead of meowing.
πŸ‚AutumnπŸ‚
The sweetest girl. Has a very unique Meow. Professional cuddler. Loves carrying toys around in her mouth.
🍎Cider🍎
Sweet, shy boy! Needs time to warm up, but once he does watch out cause he's a cuddle bug.
🌰Acorn🌰 (I know that's a hazelnut haha, yell at Android not me)
Very sassy, funny guy that has tons of personality. Never misses a meal.

🐱 Priority is given to anybody who wants to adopt in pairs, and we are especially hoping to find a family that would like to adopt both Autumn and Maple together.

🌲 Pets are a lifetime commitment, and not just a gift for the season. The holidays can be very stressful, especially on little kittens, so putting them under the tree isn't an option for them. These little ones will be able to go home after Christmas, but we're happy To make a certificate, help you find just the rest of the animal or whatever else still make it a lovely holiday surprise while still putting the care and needs of our kittens first πŸ˜‰

🐾All Tiny Paws RVA kittens are treated for fleas and parasites, tested for FIV/FELV, receive age appropriate vaccines, and are fixed before going home.

Kittens must be indoor only, keep their claws, and single kittens must be adopted to a home that already has another active cat OR in pairs. Priority is given to adopters looking to adopt 2 kittens.

It's ! A day where non-profits all over ask, plead, entice, and beg you to give.

But that's not my goal today.

I'm not asking because last week when we were faced with the potential of big medical bills for a little kitten, Y'all showed up with enough support to cover the bills at hand, plus a little for the next one.

My point is that y'all showed up for us when I asked you to. And you've done it again and again and again.

And for that, I am so incredibly grateful.

I am a woman who lives with her entire heart and soul, I do everything I can for the animals and people in my life. I give my time and my heart and my effort and my love and my tears and everything else willingly, but it is hard. And when I really sit and think about it, I couldn't do it without the support of the people behind me. Obviously my family and friends, but also supporters who donate money.

Sometimes it's wild to sit here, in a room in my house I have devoted solely to the animals I foster, And think about the fact that hundreds (If not more?) Of people who haven't even met me See what I do and deem it worthy enough to give their hard-earned money. I'm not being dramatic when I say it literally makes me cry sometimes. In a good way, which cannot always be shed for the tears I shed for rescue.

Because people choose to adopt from us, to foster for us, To donate money and supplies, time and time again in amounts tiny and huge (if all matters, it all adds up), I am able to save some of the tiniest and most vulnerable babies out there. I'm able to text my fosters and say "want some new kittens?" Or I can walk in the door at my parents' house for dinner with a carrier and they laugh knowing I have some new hot mess attached to my hip for the next month.

Even in dark and scary times, I am able to know that I am doing something beautiful and meaningful and good. And I'm not doing it alone because I have all this support.

So today, If you want to give, we'll absolutely take that donation. But I'm also going to take time to simply say thank you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. πŸ’œ
With so much love and gratitude,
Lauren

The other day I noticed swollen lumps under Hershey's chin, around her neck. I figured they were swollen lymph nodes from her recent vaccine and gave it a day to see what would happen.

After a day they were still very swollen, so I made an appointment at our vet to have her checked out to be safe. Unfortunately, our amazing vet Dr Jones did find this all concerning enough that we decided the best course of action was in depth labs and testing. While we aren't panicking yet, it's definitely concerning and we need to take this seriously.

Hershey is so sweet, and she's such a good little girl. She's always in someone's lap purring away, and the vet staff couldn't get over how calm and happy she was, even when getting poked and prodded with needles.

With Giving Tuesday coming up and knowing how many organizations (many of which are friends I love and support!) I didn't want to do a fundraiser when so many are asking for money, but today's vet appointment, and the potential for more vet visits and treatments, changed that.

Between an extended bloodwork panel and sending the aspiration sample out to a lab, we're already looking at over $250. It would be wonderful if we could raise $250 to cover that. Anything else we raise will go directly into our vet care account for any other care Hershey may need.

If you're able to give, it would help us out so much! If you can't, please consider sharing. But above all, let's hope whatever it turns out to be is minor and easily treated for the sake of our little girl. 🩷

We appreciate anything you're able to give!

Note: We are also choosing not to speculate about what it could be since the possibilities are vast at the moment, and we ask that no one else tries to play "Google vet" in the comments. :)

Even though she was adopted over the weekend, I still had to share this photo of Milky Way.

That's definitely one way to enjoy the cat bed. πŸ˜‚

Tonight we say "congratulations!" to 3 kittens that found their forever homes this weekend!

Fuji is the first of the apple litter to go home, and he has multiple kitty siblings waiting for him!
Then Twix & Milky Way (who did not feel like cooperating for a photo πŸ˜‚) will be living the good life out in Blacksburg!

We're so excited for these kittens, and their lucky adopters!

We have some exciting news!

Last Friday, Levi was ADOPTED! πŸŽ‰
He goes home to a big fenced in yard to run in, 3 cats to keep him company, and a new dad excited to walk him and spoil him silly!

This adoption was extra exciting because it also marked our TWO HUNDREDTH ADOPTION!

That's 200 animals in loving homes! It's a great feeling. We can't wait to save 200 more, then 200 more, and then 200- well, you get it.

Lavender was also adopted this week and although we don't have an adoption photo, we're excited for her to go home with her new mom and dog brother!

Want to join the family of tiny paws rva adopters? We have kittens ready to go home right now! You can find them on our website.

🍎 They started from the bottle, and now the apple kittens are ready for adoption!

🐱 Ambrosia (f), Honeycrisp (f), Fuji (m), and McIntosh (m) are all looking for their forever homes!

🐱 This group is about as sweet as they come, with just a little tart thrown in here and there. They are always snuggling and playing together, usually from the comfort of my lap. They greet me at the door every time I go in the kitten room and just want to be around people. Don't mistake that for being chill though, because these little ones are high energy, playful little kittens.

All Tiny Paws RVA kittens are treated for fleas and parasites, tested for FIV/FELV, receive age appropriate vaccines, and are fixed before going home.

Kittens must be indoor only, keep their claws, and single kittens must be adopted to a home that already has another active cat OR in pairs.

❗Priority will be given to adopters looking to adopt 2 kittens. We'd love For the script to go home in pairs!
