It's pretty much fall and I know we're all celebrating! That means there has to be a witchy fall babe looking for her perfect black cat companion! ๐Ÿง™๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›

๐Ÿฑ If that applies to you...look no further than Cookie Monster! ๐Ÿช๐ŸงŸโ€โ™€๏ธ

Cookie Monster has the biggest eyes that stare into your soul and ears that are almost bigger than his head. ๐Ÿฅบ

He's one of the snuggliest kittens I've ever had. He literally leaps into your arms, and has crashed into my face on more than one occasion in his efforts to get as many cuddles as fast as he can. He purrs non-stop and is generally just the best natured guy.

๐Ÿพ Cookie Monster has been treated for fleas and parasites, tested for FIV/FELV, received age appropriate vaccines, and is neutered.

Kittens must be indoor only, keep their claws, and single kittens must be adopted to a home that already has another active cat OR in pairs. Priority is given to adopters looking to adopt 2 kittens.

You can find more info and apply at TinyPawsRVA.org/adopt

Please share to help Cookie Monster, and the rest of his friends, find their perfect forever families! ๐Ÿ–ค

๐Ÿšจ I need fosters ๐Ÿšจ

Maybe I'm riding high from the fact that our fundraiser was โœจ amazing โœจ! Or maybe I'm just feeling a little too confident after the last time I asked for a dog foster and I got one. But either way, I'm trying again.

I need a few good fosters. Desperately.

I laid in bed the other night and, instead of falling asleep, I scrolled rescue group after rescue group looking at their calls for help. So many sweet little faces, none deserving the potential fate coming their way. ๐Ÿ’” I can't help them all, but I can help some.

So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to outline a couple situations I could really use fosters for.

๐Ÿถ Situation 1 ๐Ÿถ
2 little puppies
-12-14 weeks
-Mixed breed (and no, that's not code for pittie).
-they look to be medium/large breed but for now they're little
-would love a foster for both but if you already have a dog just taking one is fine.
-They have no skills and no training. You'll need to start them on that, and you have to do it a certain way.
-they're ridiculously cute. Might be fuzzy? I don't know.

๐Ÿถ Situation 2 ๐Ÿถ
A young/middle aged adult, smaller dog
-there's a few, but all of them are been 10-35lbs.
-some are young (think 6-18 months), some are older
-many of them will also need patience as they learn house training and getting used to a new environment
-if you're interested in this type of situation, we can match with what sounds good

๐Ÿฑ Situation 3 ๐Ÿฑ
-i have a few requests for kittens that need rescue
-all eating on their own, all between 2-4 kittens
-basically just need love

๐Ÿพโ— Please understand we might not be able to accept all fosters that apply. While we want to take every person and save every animal, we have to balance how many animals we can feasibly take on and who will be a good fit. โค๏ธ

I'm starting off this week with so much gratitude and love for our community.

On Friday afternoon, I shared that we had a donor willing to match up to $500 if we could meet that by Sunday evening.

Within a couple hours we were over halfway to our goal. A few hours later, we MET THE GOAL.

I was already excited because in just a few hours y'all showed up. So many people were jumping in, even just to send a few bucks. It all matters it all adds up. Cue the confetti, right?

Except y'all said "that's nothing, hold on".

So I sent an update to our donor, and they were so impressed that that said "okay, fine. If you hit $750 within the next hour we'll match up to that instead". Amazing, right?

By the time I saw their message, we had already PASSED $750. At this point I'm tearing up (because it's what I do) and texting friends celebrating and all that stuff.

But people kept donating. Even after I updated our post to let everyone know we met our goal. And let's be real, it's not like the money won't get used because it will. I'll probably just wave at some of it as it hits our bank account and goes right out.

Anyway.

By Sunday evening, our little community has raised a little over $1500!!! With a matching donation, we raised around $2250!!! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

This is incredible and wonderful and I'm so, so grateful. I might be the one saving the kittens but I can't do it without your support.

We're going into this week feeling much more confident about the state of things, and for that all I can say again is thank you.

๐Ÿšจ I need fosters ๐Ÿšจ

Maybe I'm riding high from the fact that our fundraiser is going โœจ amazing โœจ (more on that later!) Or maybe I'm just feeling a little too confident after the last time I asked for a dog foster and I got one.

-Mixed breed (and no, that's not code for pittie).
-they look to be medium/large breed but for now they're little
-would love a foster for both but if you already have a dog just taking one is fine.
-you need to be patient. They're puppies. They have no skills and no training. You'll need to start them on that, and you gotta do it a certain way (mine ๐Ÿ˜‡).
-they're ridiculously cute. Might be fuzzy? I don't know.

๐Ÿถ Situation 2 ๐Ÿถ
A young/middle aged adult, smaller dog
-a few shelters have smaller breed dogs that need help.

๐Ÿพ The details:
-Tiny Paws RVA covers all basic supply needs, medical care payments and decisions, and handles the adoption process and selection
-You provide a safe, patient, loving place for these little babies to hang out away from other pets. For kittens, a half bath is just perfect.
-you'll need to occasionally take them to vet appointments
-your current pets must be UTD on vaccines and fixed.
-fosters come without training and sometimes looking a little rough. You have to be okay with the gross side of things. You'll be rewarded with all the love and fun you can imagine.
-must be able to make trips to Bon Air & Richmond from time to time.
-great communication skills.

๐Ÿพ Frequently asked questions
-Can I tell you what I'm looking for and you can match me?
Absolutely! If you're willing to Foster, I will figure out what works for you and what you want, and find that thing.
- What if I go in wanting to Foster fail in it doesn't work out?
As long as you can hold on to them until they get adopted, that's okay. Either way it's a win.
- Can I see what they look like first?
No. Because honestly, it doesn't matter. These animals need rescue and if they don't they face the potential to die. I'm not being dramatic. If you're going to base fostering off of what they look like, you are not right for Tiny Paws.
- I've never done this before and I have lots of questions. Is that okay?
Yes! I love answering questions for new Fosters. I'm truly serious. I don't think I'd do this job well otherwise.

โ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿพ Matching Donation Alert! ๐Ÿพโ€ผ๏ธ
๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŽ‰ We've reached our goal! More details soon, but anything we continue to raise will just help us save more animals! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’œ

Our bank account is at an all-time low. Adoptions are still, donations are slow, I struggle with fundraising knowing that so many people are struggling with money (and that it'll probably only get worse). ๐Ÿ˜ญ

But at the end of the day, we have animals to care for and we need funding to do it. ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿถ

So Oops here and I are asking your help to raise $500.

โ€ผ๏ธHere's the thing. If we raise this by Sunday evening, we have an amazing donor willing to DOUBLE that amount. โ€ผ๏ธ

So really, your $5 turns into $10, your $10 turns into $20, you get the point. Just multiply whatever you want to give by 2. ๐Ÿงฎ

$1000 We'll definitely help us feel a little more secure (but more never hurts ๐Ÿ˜‡). And really, I feel like our community can help us to raise $500 easily.

You can donate through Venmo (, last 4 digits are 9387) or you can go through PayPal.

Anything helps. We appreciate it all.
And if you aren't in a position to donate, commenting on this post so it gets seen by more people or sharing it helps too.

Okay y'all. I think we can do this?
Ready?

Toulouse, Thomas O'Malley, and Marie are still waiting for their forever homes! ๐Ÿพ

We were sure they'd be adopted ASAP after charming everyone at the adoption event last weekend, but here they are!

๐ŸฑToulouse & Thomas O'Malley are a bonded pair. They do everything together, and they'd like to keep it that way! Little Marie, or "Princess Kitty" as her foster family calls her, is dainty and sweet.

โ€ผ๏ธ These kittens have been raised in a foster home with 2 little boys (the human kind) and they do GREAT with kids (as long as those kids can respect their kittens!). They'd love some tiny humans to care for in their forever homes!

๐ŸพAll Tiny Paws RVA kittens are treated for fleas and parasites, tested for FIV/FELV, receive age appropriate vaccines, and are fixed before going home.

Kittens must be indoor only, keep their claws, and single kittens must be adopted to a home that already has another active cat OR in pairs. Priority is given to adopters looking to adopt 2 kittens.

All of Sparrow's siblings were adopted this weekend at our adoption event, and now he's the only one left in his litter. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

๐ŸฑThis handsome boy doesn't stop purring. He wants to snuggle, he wants attention, he wants to play, and he wants to explore. Anything can be a toy! He's been meeting the other animals in the house and is nervous, but wants to be friends. He'll warm up to another cat easily and will be fine with laid back dogs.

And before you ask, no, he is not a Russian blue. He's just a gorgeous gray cat. ๐Ÿ˜˜

Happy National Dog Day to our sweet WILLOW who is still looking for a home!

๐Ÿถ Willow is about 9 months, ~60lbs, and an almost 50/50 split of hound and pittie.

๐ŸถWillow is crate trained, house trained, good with dogs and cats, has met kids and loved them (a little intensely ๐Ÿ˜…), and is basically the sweetest girl. She loves to run, loves to snuggle, and will be someone's best friend.

๐Ÿถ Willow is fully vetted and ready to join your family!

Speaking of ADOPTIONS, August has been a good month for that!

We celebrated the adoptions of Cody, Raven, Cindy, Bill & Clara (together), & Otto & Lulu (together). And from our event, Miette & Finch went home together and Lark & Wren went home together!
Fun fact: Lark & Wren's new parents are the human parents to Raven's new mom! We love it!

Want to be part of the Tiny Paws family? We still have plenty of kittens available!

Our adoption event this weekend was AMAZING!

We met so many new friends and cat lovers! Thank you to my amazing friends and volunteers who brought their foster kitties out and kept things running smoothly. Thank you to everyone who brought donations! Thank you to Painted Tree Boutique- Glen Allen for hosting us and a special thank you to MARJORIE for making us feel so welcome and helping us make it happen!

And we're happy to share that we had a few adoptions, with hopefully a few more to come! ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ

Should we do it again?
I hope you say yes, because we're planning to! Stay tuned! ๐Ÿ˜˜
