Tomorrow October 13, 2024 I will be at the event at Four Corners Winery & Wedding Venue selling my treats as well as my friends beautifully handmade pet themed bags! I have a new selection that were just dropped off to me yesterday! Take a look at the beautiful bags the large ones are $30 and have a compartment for your p**p bags, pocket for treats and a zipped pouch for your keys phone and wallet while walking your dog. The small p**p bag holders are $8 each. Come out tomorrow at the Winery and have a great time with your pet. Tomorrow’s event at Four Corners Winery will be last in person event for me this season but I will be resuming my shipping and in person delivery and pick up for my Northwest Indiana local customers

Look at these adorable brand new taste testers!! Kenzo, Willow and Oakley got some free bags of treats from me because their amazing mama Lindsay Balash has been doing amazing work with the local rescues here in NWI and she is a lifesaver here in the region helping rescue strays and fostering them. Kenzo the beautiful Chestnut Pit Mix was found as a stray in Gary and was skin and bones when he was found and Willow the beautiful Rottie was literally dumped by the side of the road in Gary, probably because of her Cherry Eyes and wasn’t fit for breeding. Lindsay scooped her up adopted her and had the expensive surgery to have her Cherry Eyes fixed. And beautiful Oakley is her rescue pup she has had since he was a tiny puppy.

Lindsay Balash is a true gem in the rescue community here in Northwest Indiana.. 🙌🏻🙌🏻💕💕🐶🐕🦮🐩🐕‍🦺🐾🦴

Don’t forget tomorrow Saturday 21, 2024 I will be back at the Chesterton's European Market from 8am-2pm in my regular spot in the park!! Customers my next market day is this coming Saturday at the Chesterton's European Market!!! After this Saturday I will only have one more scheduled market day on October 12th and then I will be finished for the season with market days.

Later in October or beginning of November I will resume my shipping option and will make treats on a smaller scale during the off season and will offer either pick up at my house or local delivery within a couple mile radius of the Coffee Creek Watershed preserve area as we live right behind it.

Bella here is supervising my quality control I was doing last night for my tiny little sized Pork Liver Training Treats.

Work..work…work..Just came home from getting another 120 pounds of fresh beef lung and will be working hard the rest of the day getting it cut and packed up into butcher paper and into my freezers..my next market day at Chesterton's European Market is Saturday September 21, 2024. Hello 👋🏼 🐾🐾 Customers we are grieving the loss of our beloved girl Piper yesterday 8/28 But I promised everyone that we would be back at the Chesterton's European Market Saturday August 31st.

So we will be at our regular spot in the park this coming Saturday August 31, 2024.

Please give all your pups extra special hugs and if you bring them to the market I’ll give them lots of extra hugs 🐾🐾❤️❤️

The sudden loss of our Piper who was our healthy girl compared to her sister Bella had truly gutted us in a way that only those of you that have lost pets truly knows.

Piper was our 6th pet we had to let cross the rainbow 🌈 bridge since August 2018 but her sudden and tragic diagnosis of Osteosarcoma is by far the hardest loss we have had to deal with because she was only 6 years old. Our other pets were well into their Senior Years and lived good long lives.

We are blessed to have had Dr. Jessica Lisak DVM that now works for Lap of Love veterinary hospice come to our home yesterday morning and help Piper peacefully cross over with us holding her and her littermate Bella watching over her and her little brother Tater our Dachshund next to her.

Anyone that will eventually need or want an at home crossing over please consider Lap of Love veterinary hospice and many of you might already know Dr. Jessica Lisak as she is a Valparaiso resident and was a veterinarian at McAfee Animal Hospital for many years. Dr. Jess was just absolutely amazing.

This is what homemade in my kitchen means and how I take pride in my dog treats.. as my bags say…handmade with love in my kitchen for your dogs.. These are my Pork Liver Training Treats and after each batch comes out of the dehydrator I hand pick out the duds…the ones that did not fully rise and kinda fell during the baking and dehydrating process.. you can see the difference in the one photo of me holding a handful of perfect ones and then the duds that didn’t rise correctly.

There is nothing wrong with them and are still perfectly edible but they just look kinda weird and for small dogs might be a little bit harder to crunch.

So the duds end up going in my free sample jar that I bring to the market as I always have free samples available and the bigger dogs end up gobbling up these.

I don’t use any sorting machines for quality control and I spend the time picking by hand through hundreds of little treats to pick out the ones that did not rise like they should have.

My Pork Liver Training treats are a lot more labor intensive and many times I just don’t have the extra time to make them but when I do I try very hard to make sure the best ones are bagged up.

One picture shows the small amount of duds compared to the perfect ones that came out exactly how I like them..

When I am back at the Chesterton's European Market on Saturday August 31, 2024 I will have a full supply of my Pork Liver Training treats.

We need to give a huge shout out and heartfelt Thank you to Dr. Julie at Ark of the Dunes Animal Hospital here in Chesterton for letting two of their amazing Vet Techs Brittney and Renee make a house call to remove the 2 staples in our Piper’s incision from her Bone Biopsy she had on August 1st. Since Piper has Bone Cancer her front wrist is at high risk for a fracture which would mean immediate Euthanasia so Dr Julie agreed with us that it wasn’t a good idea to subject her to a car ride and put undue weight and pressure getting in and out of our SUV for a procedure that takes a few seconds.
Good kind and heartfelt service in our community deserves recognition in our town.
We have been using Ark of the Dunes Animal Hospital here in town since we moved to Chesterton in 2018 and they have always given our fur babies the best most compassionate care.

If you are in search of a new Veterinary clinic and want to stay as close to home as possible Ark of the Dunes will give your pets the best care ever.

This will be the last time the vet techs get to give Piper some loving before she has to cross the rainbow 🌈 bridge so they spent several minutes giving her lots and lots of hugs and kisses.

We are not sure how much longer Piper will be with us but she will let us know when she is ready to cross over.

My plans are still to be at the European Market on Saturday August 31st. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
