We have noticed a rise in cases of infectious respiratory disease in the last few days. Patients have had moderate sneezing, runny noses, low grade fevers, and mild coughs. Infectious respiratory disease is a syndrome that can be caused by single or multiple pathogens (virus, bacteria, fungus, etc). Tests are pending.

If your dog is showing any of these signs please keep them home and be aware pathogens can be passed on clothing, bedding, hands, etc.

If symptoms are mild patients generally don't require medications. Monitor drinking and eating and make sure they have plenty of chances to rest.

Chetek and Cameron Veterinary Clinics proudly welcomes Dr. Mackenzie Brost to join our team!

Dr. Brost grew up in the Wisconsin Rapids area and pursued an undergraduate degree in biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point before going on to attend veterinary school. Dr. Brost recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine and is very excited to make her home here in the Chetek area! She enjoys working with animals of all shapes and sizes and has a particular interest in equine medicine. Mackenzie resides outside of Barron with her fiance, Ashtin, on their small hobby farm along with their dogs, cats, and horses. During her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, camping, and spending time with family.

We are so excited for this opportunity to expand and continue providing the best care for our amazing clients and patients. We know you will love her as much as we already do!
