What sets BDAR apart is our unique vision for Wyoming:

We’re the only rescue dedicated exclusively to helping Wyoming’s homeless pets and Wyoming’s pet owners. PACK Program: A partnership with the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution that pairs shelter dogs with inmate handlers for 9 weeks. This program teaches dogs basic obedience and provides both the dog and the inmate with the opportunity

for shared redemption and rehabilitation. Foster care: A program designed to increase the capacity of the adoption program by placing animals in temporary care in the homes of willing volunteers. High-volume adoptions: A program designed to place as many homeless pets in dedicated permanent homes as quickly as possible, thereby freeing up physical, financial, and human resources necessary to care for new incoming animals, or those requiring more extensive therapies prior to adoption. Low-cost microchips: Affording people the ability to have their pet permanently identified in the event they become missing and need to be reunited with their owner. Pet food pantry: Assisting members of the community with free dog and cat food and other supplies during times of financial hardship. Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender (PASS) program: Re-homing assistance for dogs who need not ever enter a shelter.

💔 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR MAPLE 💔

Y’all… look at this face. Maple needs a foster home for at least one week, and she needs it NOW. This sweet girl can’t live with cats, but she does get along with dogs—she just has a rough-and-tumble playstyle. She’s a goofy grumbler who “talks” when you hit just the right scratching spot, and she’ll absolutely steal your heart.

But here’s the hard part: no one has stepped up for Maple, and she’s running out of options. She does her absolute best in a home environment, and she has great manners. She even graduated from PACK, so she knows all her basic cues and is comfortable spending time in a crate.

If she has to spend a full week in a kennel—day and night—we know the stress will be really hard on her. She doesn’t deserve that. She deserves comfort, kindness, and a safe place to land.

Meet Midnight!

This silly, fun-loving boy is full of personality and charm. Midnight has been spending his days in a larger suite with his buddy Grayson, and the two of them make quite the entertaining duo. He’s always eager to pop his head out when someone walks by—especially if there are treats involved.

Midnight loves gentle attention and doesn’t mind a bit of light brushing to keep his sleek coat looking neat as a pin. He’s curious, friendly, and enjoys being part of whatever is going on around him. With his playful nature and sweet temperament, he’ll make a wonderful addition to a loving home.

Meet Kymber — the older but wiser gal looking for her next chapter!

Kymber is a loyal, loving heeler whose world was turned upside down when her owner passed away. Now, she’s hoping to find a new family to share her heart with.

She’s a gentle soul who seems to do well around children — though, true to her heeler nature, she may try to herd their little heels now and then! Kymber has lived peacefully with cats before; she might give chase occasionally, but she’s never caused them harm.

Kymber once had a best dog friend, but she hasn’t lived with another pup recently. Because of that, we recommend a proper meet-and-greet with any potential canine siblings before adoption.

We had our last vaccine clinic of the year on Saturday! We will hold 4 in 2026 and the first one will likely be in February or March!

November’s vaccine clinic saw 83 animals vaccinated! There were quite a few puppies, kittens, dogs, and cats! We are always happy to provide for our community and clinic days are exhausting but heartwarming!

Don't forget we have a vaccine clinic on Saturday, November 8th, from 9am to 1pm! Our appointments are full, but we will accept walk-ins. Drop by to get your animals healthy and up to date on their vaccinations. We are located at 2407 E. 9th in Cheyenne, WY. Please ensure all animals are leashed or in a carrier. We have a few leashes and carriers available at the check-in desk if you need them for your visit with us.
