What sets BDAR apart is our unique vision for Wyoming:

We’re the only rescue dedicated exclusively to helping Wyoming’s homeless pets and Wyoming’s pet owners. PACK Program: A partnership with the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution that pairs shelter dogs with inmate handlers for 9 weeks. This program teaches dogs basic obedience and provides both the dog and the inmate with the opportunity

for shared redemption and rehabilitation. Foster care: A program designed to increase the capacity of the adoption program by placing animals in temporary care in the homes of willing volunteers. High-volume adoptions: A program designed to place as many homeless pets in dedicated permanent homes as quickly as possible, thereby freeing up physical, financial, and human resources necessary to care for new incoming animals, or those requiring more extensive therapies prior to adoption. Low-cost microchips: Affording people the ability to have their pet permanently identified in the event they become missing and need to be reunited with their owner. Pet food pantry: Assisting members of the community with free dog and cat food and other supplies during times of financial hardship. Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender (PASS) program: Re-homing assistance for dogs who need not ever enter a shelter.

Yall Lulu is the cutest! Shes been with BDAR for quite awhile and has made the biggest improvements. She went from an emotionally shut down dog, to a sweet and shy girl! She’s working every day with her foster family to help improve and trust people! It’s hard to earn but so worth it!

We Are Hiring!

BDAR is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a full-time Administrative and Animal Care Staff member.

This position is scheduled from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and will also require some weekend and holiday availability. The person in this role will be responsible for running adoption meetings, providing care for cats and dogs housed in our facility, cleaning kennels, and assisting with a variety of other tasks that support the daily operations of our organization.

We strongly encourage individuals with previous animal care experience to apply, although it is not a strict requirement.

Adoption Round-up!

This month saw 42 adoptions! Join us in wishing a happy adoption month to all these sweet babies! Some highlights include:

5 P.A.C.K Dogs adopted!
Samson a kitten (a staff favorite!), finally got a home!
All of the cats born in our office a few months ago went to their new homes.

Meet Gunnar! This sweet and beautiful boy is new to BDAR and looking for a loving home! He’s a 1 year old Australian Shepherd who’s so darn cute! He’s a typical Aussie and would do best with older kids or someone who is willing to establish boundaries regarding herding behavior. Gunnar is fun and playful and will not be here long. Fresh puppy alert!

These three-day-old babies were born to a community member’s very loved dog. Before they were even born, he reached out to us for help.

This happens frequently, and as long as the owner is willing to let the puppies stay with their mom and take care of them until they are old enough to be surrendered to us - we are more than willing to assist in any way we can. The catch? They must agree to let us spay the momma dog - free of charge. Hardly anyone declines the offer. People want what’s best for their pets, but so often lack the resources to do it.

In a couple of months, these babies will be ready for adoption and their young mom and her owner will never have to do this again.

Look for these babies on the website in about 6 weeks or so. They are doodle/wirehaired pointer mixes.
