We are pretty sure our girl has some "babies in the oven". She is OBSESSED with midnight snacks right now - which is so funny. We hear her in the kitchen in the wee hours getting a snack.. one night it was helping herself to licking clean the Chinese take out boxes that didn't get thrown out before bed. I craved Chinese food too, girl!
Also - how she sits is just hilarious!

Our girl is in heat! And I'm working on getting our website up and running 😅 So stay tuned for the launch of that! Kendall has a date with her boyfriend next week - which would make for mid-July pups and Early-mid Sept go home dates! September is a great time to bring home a puppy! If you or someone you know is interested in a Bernadoodle puppy from a responsible breeder, send them our way. We also will deliver pups within 350 miles for an extra fee.

Why a bernadoodle? Because Bernese Mountain dogs make excellent family dogs. They differ in several ways from the popular Golden Retriever but also have some similarities. Such as: Loyal, good with kids, playful, rambunctious, and smart. They different in that they have less drive to play fetch or bring you things, they are lower energy on the whole, often larger (although ours is the same size), and have more guard dog in their blood. I rarely run into a golden retriever who doesn't welcome you into their home instantly - they may bark but they want to jump all over you and most intruders would only be concerned with being licked to death. Having a Berner has been a different story. She is slower to welcome people to our "den". She is not aggressive - but I know she would protect if there was a real intruder. She learns her people and so if you are new to our house/"den" she might not want all the pets right away - esp if you are a man with a hat and sunglasses. But this is ok with me. I trust her completely.

So why a bernadoodle? Because these traits will pass down - just with less fur. And they make for a wonderful dog.

***Answer on the hypoallergenic question***
Are bernadoodles hypoallergenic?? Studies show that F1 bernadoodles are 75% allergy friendly. This means that if you have severe dog allergies you may still react to a first generation cross (F1) bernadoodle. The most allergy friendly bernadoodles are the F1b's. These doodles consist of an F1 bernadoodle mother crossed with a poodle male. Resulting in a 3/4 poodle dog and extremely low shedding. (we are hoping to have these available in 2 years or so) If you are considering a bernadoodle and have questions about allergies, please contact me. Everyone with allergies who is pursuing a doodle from us will receive the "t-shirt test". Where we take a new shirt and seclude it with the puppies (away from mom) and the shirt is given to the family/person with allergies. Then they wear it and see if there are any reactions. Here is a great article for further reading on doodles and allergies.

Meet the parents. The Poodle on the left here is Tugg. A 40 # poodle with great genes that should produce bernadoodle colors like the doodle in the bottom right. Top right is Kendall. Pups with the Tri-color markings like a Bernese are a little more expensive than ones without all 3 colors. This is something to keep in mind and do some Pinterest-ing to decide what color of bernadoodle your family wants. Kendall is only a 60 # Berner - very small for the breed. So their puppies will nearly be "mini bernadoodles" and some quite possibly will be. They should stay in that 50-60 # range if fed a good healthy diet and are active.

Introducing Lady Kendall of Kennedy. She is a nearly 2yr old AKC Berenese Mountain Dog who will be having her first litter this summer. Kendall is a wonderful dog. She is very emotionally intelligent and has even come to get adults when children have started crying in our home. She is gentle with littles and a loyal guard dog. She is highly intelligent with a small dose of stubborn. But in the end she aims to please above all. She often puts herself in her crate when she sees us getting ready to leave. She is an amazing car dog and loves car rides. Kendall was super easy to train and responds exceptionally to verbal commands. We are excited to multiply her genes into other great (more allergy friendly) dogs.
