Interested in fostering kittens and want to learn more about how to help them thrive? Join us on January 11th from 4-6 P.M., in the Shelter Community Room, for a free Kitten Socialization Class hosted by our wonderful Foster Coordinator, Laura Woeber!

In this session, you’ll learn:
🐾 What socialization is: Building confidence, coordination skills, and positive behavior in kittens.
🐾 Why we do it: Understand how early interactions shape a kitten’s future.
🐾 When to do it: Key milestones to watch for in a kitten’s development and how you can make a difference.

This class is a fantastic introduction to the world of fostering, especially if you’re considering becoming a foster parent, and is open to pet lovers of all ages. Whether you're a seasoned pet owner or new to the idea of fostering, you’ll leave with the knowledge and tools to make a difference!

This , we want to give a special shoutout to one of our most dedicated, hardworking fosters -- Amy! Since 2016, Amy has singlehandedly completed 2,890 volunteer and foster hours. In 2024 alone, Amy fostered 31 cats and kittens, helping them grow into healthy, loving felines that now live with many of you lucky adopters!

Whether she's welcoming a litter of newborn kittens and their mom into her home or preparing vaccines at one of our low-cost clinics, Amy takes on the challenge with a smile. Words can't express how grateful we are to have Amy in our shelter family, and it's beyond incredible to see how many pets and people's lives have been changed thanks to her.

Thank you so much for being your fabulous, amazing self, Amy!

Meet our pet of the week, Maddi May! 👑
This 3-year-old Rottweiler mix has a heart as big as her love for hot dogs and is the perfect blend of playful and chill -- she's always ready for a good game of fetch while excelling in the fine art of lounging. Maddi May is a bit of a shy lady at first, but give her some time (and a generous helping of treats), and you'll be calling her your best friend in no time.

Maddi May's impressive resume includes knowing how to sit, shake hands, and carry two tennis balls in her mouth like a chipmunk. Plus, she's a certified doggy socialite who would love a canine friend to play with in her next home.

If you're ready to add some Maddie May magic to your life, stop by the Cheyenne Animal Shelter and meet this cutie today!

The Doggy Day Out program thrives thanks to the passion and dedication of our amazing volunteers. In 2024, Judy and Lisa went above and beyond, completing a total of 40 Doggy Day Outs (20 each) and contributing an outstanding 90 hours to ensure our shelter dogs felt loved, enriched, and cared for as they awaited their forever homes.

Words can hardly capture our gratitude for the compassion and commitment Judy and Lisa have shown. But the wagging tails, joyful playtimes, and brighter spirits of our furry friends are a testament to their remarkable impact. Judy and Lisa -- thank you for being such extraordinary advocates for our furry friends!

❄️ On snowy days like today, we know the winter chill can make Doggy Day Outs a bit tough. That's why we're thrilled to announce Doggy Days In!

If you have no other pets, you can help our adoptable dogs take a break from the kennel in the comfort of your home. Whether you're looking for a furry friend for an afternoon movie marathon or simply want to brighten a dog's day, this program is the perfect way to make some memories and help a shelter pup get some much-deserved TLC.

Your participation not only provides these dogs with a change of scenery and mental stimulation but also helps us learn more about their behavior in a home setting, making it easier to match them with their perfect family.

So if the winter weather has you cooped up inside, enjoy your day with a canine companion by heading to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter!
