Good horses. A quiet and shady barn, and 65° and sunny. I’d say that’s a pretty great way to start a Thursday. 🙂

If you live in Cheyenne or the surrounding areas and you have not bought bread from Swiss Bliss Bakery this is your sign to do so! This bread looked so pretty i almost felt bad cutting into it but let me tell you it was so worth it! Samira is the sweetest gal and sent us home with an original loaf and a chocolate one. 😍
Go to her bakery page, Swiss Bliss bakery LLC and check out all the flavors of bread she makes and place your order!

🍗🐓🍗Cheyenne friends!!

April 23rd is right around the corner and my favorite non-profit horse refuge will receive a portion of the sales from Chick-fil-A that day! Just mention Davissa Horse Refuge when placing your order! The money they receive will go towards hay, feed and vet/dentals (and so much more) for some old horses that call the Davissa home. 💕

🎉Happy (belated) New Year everyone! 🎉

2023 ended with us welcoming our sweet baby girl into the world and today was my first day back work since the end of October.
That being said I am opening my books back up to start getting horses back on. I am however starting back as “light duty” meaning I am currently only accepting trims at this time until I can get back into the swing of things and figure out being a mom and a farrier. 😬
I hope everyone has a fantastic year and I cannot wait to see everyone again!!

☘️Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!☘️

It’s no pot of gold but horseshoes are just as lucky! Horseshoes were originally made from iron that was considered magical as it withstood fire. Horseshoes are hung with seven nails as seven is said to be a fortunate number. There is also an Irish legend about Saint Dunstan, a blacksmith, who nailed a hot horseshoe to one of the devil’s hooves. This scared the devil and he would never enter a home with a horseshoe hung above the door.

A horseshoe is hung with its ends facing upwards as this position denotes a container/bowl that can store good luck. The ‘U’ shape of a horseshoe is a symbol of good fortune. However, some consider hanging a horseshoe upside down as it brings prosperity and good luck.

Hello everyone!

I am so excited to finally be able to get this page back up and running. Most of you on this page know me already but for any newbies, {welcome!} I’m Kerri, proud owner of Long Ears Farrier Services LLC. (Pictured with me is my mule Turtle, the inspiration behind the name) 😊

Just a little about myself: Previously I had been a farrier in north central Pennsylvania for 7 years but relocated to Cheyenne, WY back in 2020 and have started operating my farrier business again servicing southern Wyoming and northern Colorado. I attended The Kentucky Horseshoeing School in 2013 and completed their nine month program and I am a certified farrier through the American Farriers Association. As the name implies I do have a soft spot for the long ears of the equine world, but I happily work on all breeds and disciplines, offering services from basic trims to therapeutic shoeing and just about everything in between.

I am currently taking on new clients in Cheyenne, WY and surrounding areas so feel free to share and spread the word! 🤗
