This dog was found approximately last Wednesday near Montrose and Oak Park ( Harwood heights/ norridge). It’s a male and he probably weighs about 25-30 lbs.

The finder is holding on to this dog, we do not have him.

Today I adopted a human...
It broke my heart to see him so alone and confused. I suddenly saw his watery eyes as he looked into mine. So I barked with all my might and went after him, following from house to house.

Finally, I got close enough to touch his hand with my nose. The man smiled and I felt his heart begin to warm. I moved closer to his face and felt his tears start to flow. I looked at him and he replied with a beautiful smile.

I jumped into his lap excitedly, promising
that I would be fine, that I would love him forever, and that I would never leave
him. How fortunate that he passed by where I was and that we could meet like
that. I felt lucky too.

So many people have been there, but only he, only he, stopped looked at me. I'm
glad he made a choice and that I was able to save his life.

Today I adopted a human. Credit to the unknown author and also the painter.

Pretty girl

November 23, 2022: Tilly is doing great in foster care and her stomach issue is a lot better. As she was diagnosed with Rocky Mountain spotted fever, I held off on oral antibiotics until the 22nd when she seemed a little off. She's back to her silly, playful self thankfully and she will need to be medicated for several more months and retested annually. RMSF is a troubling disease and so under-diagnosed by vets.

November 15, 2022: Tilly is adjusting well to temporary foster care. She is having a blast with her new friends and really stretching her legs. Because she is so thin, she wears one of our fundraising dog coats all the time but that doesn't stop her from a good time. She is going to Homestead Animal Hospital this afternoon for her exam and obligatory blood work.

November 13, 2022: I was contacted in early November about a stray liver and white Pointer that looked to be lost or dumped in Memphis, TN. Tilly is about 8 months old and is very thin. She is actually wearing a dog coat anytime she goes outside except for when I took these photos.

Tilly has the perfect silly Pointer temperament, is playful with other dogs and cat safe. I would like to find her a foster to adopt home in the Chicago area and a safe fenced in yard is a must to keep her safe. She would also benefit from some playful companions as she has all kinds of puppy energy. We are only looking for pet quality homes right now and we want her to be able to snuggle on the couch as most Pointers do once they learn about indoor living.

Tilly will probably grow to be around 50lbs or more once she fills out. She currently weighs a very thin 40lbs.

17 years ago we rescued 2 sister kittens after their mom met with a tragic accident. Sadly Chloe passed away last week. We will miss you so much sweet girl . Your sister, mom and kiddos are so sad without you. Thank you for bringing so much love to our household and all your crazy antics and sweet cuddles .We will always love you. 😢.

A chemical used in Milk-Bones, Ol’Roy, Kibbles’n Bits, Hill’s Pet Food and other pet foods should no longer be considered safe for consumption due to concerns about its ability to damage DNA according to a new animal-model study.

According to the Environmental Working Group: “A scientific panel created by the European Food Safety Authority found that titanium dioxide “can no longer be considered as safe when used as a food additive.” The panel, citing concerns about titanium dioxide’s genotoxicity, or its ability to damage DNA, based its conclusion on a review of hundreds of scientific studies. EWG called on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to quickly consider whether to ban titanium dioxide from use in food."

A chemical that may damage our pet's DNA should not be fed to pets.
