Here's the secret to stress-free walks 😃

The best advice to everyone that has a pully dog is find out WHY your dog pulls.

When you watch them on leash you will start to see cues they give you before they take off 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💨

If it's immediate or the entire walk (first let's say a word for your shoulders 🙏) you want to give your dog some free/off leash time.

are going to be the best for this but you can also use a long line at a park that isn't so crowded

Did you know that puppies should get about 17 hours of rest a day! 😴

Sounds like a lot huh? Well when you add it all up majority of that comes from nighttime sleep but the rest should be scheduled in as a nap or down time.

If your puppy has difficulty with calming themselves down there are some things you can do:

🐕 set up a routine around sleep that winds down your puppy a few hours before
🐕 get a pheromone plug in that you only use a bit before you want them to sleep
🐕 chewing and licking are natural ways to calm the brain
🐕 turn the lights down and play calm music or white noise

Some puppies will fight you to keep playing just like a toddler but it is important for their brain to get the right amount of rest.

Top 3 reasons you should brush your dogs teeth 😁

🐶 Prevents dental disease: just like you dogs can get plaque build up, broken teeth, and more that can cause infection
🐶 Extends lifespan: brushing regularly can prevent oral bacteria that can lead to more serious health issues
🐶 Check for health issues: such as broken teeth, gum disease and getting into this routine makes it much easier for the vets to check what they need

Start slow you may even want to use a finger wipe at first to get your dog use to things in their mouth that they don't chew.

Find a good dog friendly, tasty paste they make them peanut butter flavored a lot of the time.

You may even want to teach a head rest this can be on your hand or a level surface.

I want to take a moment to be extremely honest with you…

🐶 Jumping for dogs is totally natural! In dog language being close to the face is a way to get attention or sympathy from another.

It also is a great way to get YOUR attention. If you mean it that way or not when your pup jumps you react which is reinforcement.

🤔 So I bet you are saying “well what do I do because it is rude to me and my guest!”

I want you to think about what you DO want your dog TO do instead. Is it sitting, grabbing a toy, staying behind a baby gate?

All of these are AMAZING alternatives to jumping. The next step is practice, practice, practice!
