Sweet Alec can be super shy at times, but other times he’s full of energy, jumping and playful. He’s such a good boy and seems to take direction really well. While walking on leash, he started to jump a bit, so I turned and walked the other way. When we returned to our original direction, he adjusted beautifully, walking in step with me, which was so nice to see. In the play lot, he had a little burst of zoomies but quickly settled down, wanting nothing more than to melt into you for some affection—that’s clearly what he enjoys the most. He loves treats and takes them so gently. He’s a silly, sweet puppy and can’t be more than a year old. He was also brave enough to give agility a try and seems to really enjoy it. Alex is available for adoption at Chicago Animal Care and Control. You can meet him any day between 12-6pm.

Gravity (A278593) is a truly exceptional boy who's ready for a fresh start. Adopted over the summer as a pup, he's now looking for a new forever home after his previous family was unable to keep him. This is Remuloude, he was a great dog. He did agility and went to play group,, and he was available for adoption at Chicago Animal Care and Control but unfortunately the shelter runs out of space every single day because people are irresponsible. Over 10 stray dogs came in just yesterday morning (7/4) before the fireworks even started. And the shelter was already full. Many of them come in without collars and tags and aren’t chipped. It doesn’t cost much to get a collar and you can get a tag for $5-$10 at a pet store. Many shelters/rescues sponsor free chip and vaccination clinics. There is absolutely no excuse. These dogs shouldn’t even step foot in the shelter. They should be going straight home. Then pups like Remuloude would get to experience another day and the chance at having his own family. 🌈

Poor Bronwyn is back at Chicago Animal Care and Control. She was adopted last spring and her owner had to return her due to her own health issues. She is just as sweet as she was last year. Very playful, tried agility, and also loves the butt scratches. Please come meet her, she is spayed and ready to go home today.

Finally met Disney at Chicago Animal Care and Control today. She is a little Gremlin dog. So cute and dog friendly, she goes to playgroup, and gave agility a try today too. What a cutie. Come meet her! She is ready to find her forever home.

Come meet Safe Humane Chicago PALs pup Nina Beans at Templestowe Pub Chicago and have some fun playing Bingo. Sweet Nina Beans was adopted this summer and unfortunately her adopter, though she loved her very much, could not care for her while in college. Thankfully Nina Beans has been living with a trainer while she looks for a new . Come drink some beer, play some bingo, and go home with the most amazing pup ever. I am speaking from experience, she’s amazing.

Forget the Easter Egg Hunt this year and come to Chicago Animal Care and Control and find your hidden treasure! We have over 200 pups waiting to find their match, you’re sure to find a pup that matches your family’s needs.

Here’s just a couple (all female) that could really benefit from getting out of the shelter and into a soon. With spring break coming up it’s the perfect time to add a new family member and give them that extra time to decompress and learn about your family.

🐕Caledonia: has had a leash test so could potentially have a dog sibling with proper intro. A little shy and will take some time to warm up to her new family. Knows sit and takes treats gently.

🐕Bahamas: love this girl and she’s a volunteer favorite. She was previously adopted and unfortunately things didn’t work out. Before being adopted the first time, she was in playgroup, so with proper introduction she could potentially have a dog sibling.

🐕 Lululemon: has a playful spirit but without the puppy craziness. She knows some commands, takes treats gently, and leans in for pets. She’s had a couple of leash tests so she could potentially have a dog sibling with the proper introduction.

🐕Dakota: this pint sized girl is on the smaller side. She is not super interested in treats or toys but much prefers attention from her humans. Also, how can you resist those ears, one up one down?

🐕Nadia: This pup is much smaller than she appear and might make a good choice for someone in an apartment. She loves treats and pets, she’s a total love bug. You won’t be able to resist petting that super soft, velvety coat

If one of these pups sounds interesting to you come on down to Chicago Animal Care and Control and ask to meet them. But remember there are over 200 others waiting as well if one of these girls does not work out. Most adoption fees are waived.

Pictured are some of the pups at the adoption center who would love to crash at your home while they wait for their forever family. Remember, fostering saves 2 lives, when you open your home to one of these pups, CARE can rescue another from Chicago Animal Care and Control, which then opens a kennel for a stray dog waiting for their chance. Calling all rescues and adopters I have an announcement. 📣
⭐️ LOUISIANA IS PERFECTION! ⭐️
She is an older girl who has been at the shelter almost a month and she is the sweetest. She came out to meet a group from My Block, My Hood, My City who is at Chicago Animal Care and Control doing some volunteer work and all she wanted was to lean in for pets. She was so good with the whole group, from middle school age to high school and beyond.
