Babies are kept in a kiddie pool for their first 5 weeks and here is where they learn to walk and eat. Mom has all freedoms to roam where ever she wants in the house. No I do not keep my kittens in cages. For me cages are no good especially for extended periods, it can be unhealthy. Cats can feel trapped and become anxious in a small space, which can lead to behavioral issues like scratching and spraying. Yes it’s hard to keep non fixed cats all together but I’ve found loop holes to keep them separated without cages specially when it comes to mating.
