We love a glow up! Today is National Pet Obesity Awareness Day, and princess Choco is here as a spokespuppy. Choco was eating a little too much at home, and last August she weighed in at 14.2 pounds. She was put on a diet by decreasing her food and treats, and over time she shed the extra weight. Today, she weighs a healthy 9.5 pounds! She is happy and more active than ever. In the US, about 60% of dogs and cats were classified as overweight or obese in 2022. Being overweight can cut years off your pet’s life, and can lead to serious problems like diabetes and joint disease. Microchips greatly increase the chances that pets will be reunited with their families if they are lost or stolen… but a microchip only works if its registration information is accurate. Happy 4th of July!🇺🇸🎆We hope you and your pets enjoy a safe and happy holiday. See below for some tips on keeping them safe!

🇺🇸Keep pets in a secured, quiet room during fireworks displays. You can play music in the room to help cover up the sound of fireworks.
🇺🇸Pets should wear a collar with your information listed, so that you can be contacted in case they get loose.
🇺🇸Pets love food! But new foods and high fat items can cause GI upset, including pancreatitis. Stick to your pet’s normal diet to avoid a trip to the vet for vomiting and diarrhea!
