Our Story

Dr. Rosemarie Niznik desired to become a veterinarian since she was in grade school. She graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and completed a Small Animal Internship at Stage Road Animal Hospital in Memphis, TN. She worked in several small animal practices perfecting her skills in small animal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and emergency medicine. In 2002, Dr. Niznik established herself as a “relief veterinarian” and operated her relief veterinary business in 5 states on the East Coast area. As a relief veterinarian, Dr. Niznik was able to work in many diverse veterinary hospitals and advance her skills to include exotic pet medicine and spay/neuter surgery.

Dr. Niznik moved to the Chicagoland area in 2007 and established her relief veterinary business in the Chicagoland area and Southern Wisconsin. A strong advocate for organized veterinary medicine, she joined the Boards of the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association and Chicago Veterinary Medical Foundation. She served as President of the Chicago VMA in 2015. She is currently serving her second term as President of the Chicago VMF. She is Chair of the Social Media/Communications Committee of both veterinary organizations.

Dr. Niznik lives on a 5 acre hobby farm in Bristol. Wisconsin, with her finance, Chip, and pets: Grace, a Bernese Mountain Dog, and Wendy and Willa, two rescue cats. She spends her winter weekends teaching skiing at Vail Resorts Wilmot Mountain.
