I recently met a lovely veterinary technician, Christina Cagle, who has a mobile business providing tech services to pets in our area. If any of you have dogs or kitties who need services such as nail trims, a**l gland expression, ear cleaning, hygiene/sanitary shaving, she travels to homes to provide these services to allow pets a less stressful experience. Peaceful Tails End-of-Life Veterinary Care was featured today on NPR's Community Voices show. Thank you so much to Beatrice Bonner for interviewing me and making me feel at ease (my first radio interview), and for helping to spread the word about the services Peaceful Tails provides. You can listen to the show at:

Dr. Jessica Keay is a veterinarian and owner of Peaceful Tails which offers in-home end-of-life care for pets in Sangamon County. She spoke about her journey to opening the mobile business, the process of euthanasia, and providing comfort for families.

I want to thank our clients for their patience this week as I had the flu, and apologize for any delay in returning messages. I am once again healthy and able to see appointments. Please feel free to get in touch to schedule or with any inquiries. I hope you all have a healthy New Year!

I regret to inform our potential clients that I (Dr. K) am sick in bed with Influenza and will not be able to see any patients until further notice. It breaks my heart to not help pets in need but I also don’t want to put myself or owners in danger by exposing them to my illness. I will post an update as soon as I am open to appointments again. If you have an emergency please contact your regular veterinarian or the Animal Emergency Clinic of Springfield.

12/24/2022

We will be closed and unavailable for appointments 12/24-12/26 as we visit family for the holidays. We apologize for the inconvenience. We wish you and your families a peaceful holiday.

I had the honor of helping sweet Artex cross the rainbow bridge surrounded by her family that loved her so very much. Her mom sent me these amazing photos of what they have done in her memory and I had to share (after wiping away my tears) because it was such a beautiful way to honor Artex's memory.
