Once again the sad reality and proof of yet another Rover independent contractor (not employee as there is no such thing as a sitter employed by Rover) in the middle of 2 separate dog deaths and 1 case of abuse while under the care of the same sitter, in San Francisco.

Rover's checks and balances are weak at best with incomplete and flawed background checks, employment checks, petcare experience checks, no insurance, and no petcare education.

One local sitter tries to market their services as "Rover certified" - heads up there is no such thing. Rover is exclusively a marketing platform, and they are not responsible for the ICs that market their own services on the Rover platform.

When will this insanity end. Rover is not professional and with almost no regulations or standards. You want to feel safe and secure in your petcare partner Pro, consult with and search on an industry association directory of certified, insured professionals through PSI, Pet Sitters International. They do have new industry standards.

Jerry had a fun-filled, exhausting holiday - tearing wrapping paper, chewing cardboard boxes, instant daycare with other 4-legged family, and receiving more than his share of "awww cutie Jerry" attention.
