Xena's owners looked for her every day - kinda like I've been doing for my Bud since the day he went missing.

Xena got loose from the person that had been caring for her & was found by someone that took steps to see is she was

They even tried to claim her but they were not her rightful owner. Which I'm sure was heartbreaking for them as well. But she didn't belong to him in the end.

PLEASE IF YOU FIND A DOG GET THEM SCANNED - MULTIPLE TIMES IF YOU HAVE TOO. THESE ARE SOMEONE'S FAMILY.

Officer Frausto from Calumet Park PD scanned a found dog this morning, with a scanner donated to them by Lost Dogs Illinois in April of this year! They didn't have one, and were so grateful to receive this. A woman called regarding a dog loose in the area. Officer Frausto went over there with his donated microchip scanner and scanned the dog and she was chipped. The owner in the picture with Officer Frausto said Xena had been missing for a year.

Sure enough, she was posted to Lost Dogs Illinois as missing since 6/3/2023! Her family is so happy to get her back home! Lost Dogs Illinois had shared and reshared her, so this news was very heartfelt!

Thank you to all that kept a lookout for her and shared her posts, it all matters! Thank goodness for microchips!!!

FOUR YEARS!!!!

Where was she? Who had her all this time? And how could they keep a dog that clearly wasn’t theirs?

Thank god she was but it shouldn’t have taken so long for her to get home.

A loose dog is not a free dog. This is not finder’s keepers! These are peoples beloved fur babies.

I pray every day for this! For Bud to be scanned & finally returned home to me.

Missing nearly 4 years -

Chloe went missing close to 4 years ago, and her family got a call today that she was found and is coming home! They had her microchipped in 2011.

Chloe's microchip was never registered and Chicago Animal Control requested information from the implant facility, Paws Chicago. In the meantime, they sent it to Microchip Hunters who heard back from Paws Chicago with the owner information the next morning.

The owner only spoke Spanish, but put her young daughter on the phone. She understood I was asking about a Chihuahua. The daughter explained that they were missing Chloe and that she went missing 3 years ago. They waited a couple hours for Chicago Animal Control to open, and went to reclaim her immediately! They went to get her a bed and food, and she is home resting comfortably!

"Si pero después de 4años sin verla le daremos todo el amor que ella se merece fue mucho tiempo de estar sin ella: "Yes, but after 4 years without seeing her, we will give her all the love she deserves. It was a long time without her."

Imagine if she wasn't microchipped. She would have not made it home. Once again, the importance of the microchip - we don't know when our dogs might go missing.

Assumptions only end up hurting the family's. Thankfully she was scanned & the proper steps were taken to get this baby home where she belong

What assumptions are made???

This little dog was abandoned outside of Chicago Animal Care and Control, and people were told by this person that left the dog that she barks too much. 'They didn't want to wait to officially surrender.

Thank you to Chicago Animal Care and Control for submitting this case to Microchip Hunters when the phone number for the chip was not correct.

The owner on this microchip called Microchip Hunters immediately when they received an email that her dog was found. Stormy went missing exactly a year ago. It turns out that 3 of the numbers entered on Stormy's registration were transposed, but her email was correct.

Stormy went home after her spay, thanks to her microchip!

No assumptions here! We know there are many circumstances that bring animals to animal control, and they are not always what they appear. We have no idea how Stormy ended up with a new family that brought her in to surrender, but we do know that her family was really happy to get this email!

December 28, 2022 was 1 year, 8 months and 0 days ago, which is 609 days.

It was a Wednesday - week 52 of 2022. This is one of the top 3💔days of my life! Several calls to the dog sitter/walker went unanswered? Finally! An answer.

I’m on my way to get Bud. Oh, I’m not there will call you when I’m back. Sure.

An hour later I call back due to no call from him. On my way. Uh, I don’t know where Bud is.🤬

What speed limit, my one and only child!🚨 WTF!

He provided no possible or plausible explanation. I searched, called out, put out his blanket, contacted CPD, searched online for what to do. Listed Bud on every site possible and did flyers.

All night I searched the area, sat with my car windows down and heat blasting. Called family to assist with searching.

So many wonderful people and one particular group of ladies reached out to help and continue to support us 609 days later! Most importantly they provided support and guidance on how and what needed to be done.

Awesome people hung flyers, made contributions, made better flyers, written letters created FB, TikTok, etc assisted with any sightings, checked shelters, made calls name it people have stepped in to assist! Those same people continue to guide me through this emotional nightmare🥹

609 days and counting.

Knowing Bud is safe, being loved and cared for would give us some comfort!
