When Odin arrived at Anti-Cruelty, he was just a month old—and already battling more than most kittens ever should. A painful corneal ulcer had gone untreated, and by the time he reached us, his eye could no longer be saved.

But Odin wasn’t alone. A member of our team’s family took him in as a foster, helping him grow strong enough for his surgery. With love, patience, and a house full of furry (and feathery!) friends—including three dogs, two bunnies, a bird, and even a bearded dragon—Odin blossomed.

After his enucleation surgery, he returned to foster for a short recovery, feeling better than ever with that painful eye finally gone. Soon after, he found his forever family—healthy, happy, and full of life.

We’re heading to PetSmart Andersonville this Saturday from 12–2PM, and our adoptable pets are gearing up for some serious meet-and-greet time.

When our Field Services team got the call, all they knew was that a dog was being kept outside in a cage.

When they arrived, they met a small, frightened dog with patchy fur, reddened skin, and a strong smell of urine—signs of long-term neglect. The man at the property said a friend had “found” her but didn’t know what to do. That friend agreed to surrender her, giving this little dog her first real chance at safety.

She was transferred to Anti-Cruelty after her stray hold—and that’s where her new life began. With medical care, gentle handling, and the compassion she’d always deserved, her tail started wagging again.

Today, she’s adopted and thriving under a new name: Mouse! Her favorite toy? A bright ball she carries everywhere she goes—a small joy that means everything.

A tiny litter of kittens was brought to Anti-Cruelty after being found covered in fleas and struggling to survive. They were weak, undernourished, and in desperate need of care.

Our team got to work right away to help—providing warmth, food, and gentle medical attention so they could grow stronger. And during those first exams, we discovered something remarkable: one of the kittens had been born without a front leg.

We named her Easel, because like an artist’s stand, she balances perfectly on three legs—and paints joy everywhere she goes. With love, care, and time, Easel learned to climb, play, and live life to the fullest.

When Bonnie first came to Anti-Cruelty as a tiny kitten from an overcrowding situation, no one could have guessed how extraordinary her journey would be. She was gentle and loving from the start—the kind of cat who leans in for affection and trusts you completely.

But something wasn’t right. Our veterinary team noticed signs of concern and began running tests. That’s when they discovered a life-threatening condition: Bonnie had a congenital heart defect that could shorten her life.

Most animals with her condition don’t make it. But with expert medical care, costly medication, and the love of her current foster family, Bonnie is not just surviving—she’s thriving. Every day is a gift for her.
