chronicles of trying to take a photo with khaleesi 🐰
sometimes we forget, we have to teach patience to our dogs.
as much as we train them to have energy, stamina, and drive. we need to remember to take that same energy into teaching them to be calm, present, and relaxed.
doing nothing, is doing something.
not long ago in the airport with my dog we were experiencing a lot of delays, eventually our flight was cancelled but in this waiting period Khalessi was laying at my feet while I was sitting against the wall and this man came up and made this comment “wow your working dog is working really hard” in a sarcastic tone.
keep in mind when you’re in public and especially in an airport, people are going to make remarks at you. Unfortunately in my experience I’ve had more negative comments vs positive. People just always have to say their piece when it’s 1. Not welcomed and 2. Irrelevant.
Anyway, I laughed and said “dogs need breaks too” and that’s it. He shrugged his shoulders like he somewhat understood and walked away. I never put energy into explaining her purpose, mine, or any reason why we’re doing what we’re doing where we’re doing it. It’s none of their concern and is wasted breath for myself.
You know who to give your energy to when people approach you in public, it’s usually pretty easy to tell their intentions. In my experience, specifically when traveling with an animal, it’s one of these things -
excited there’s a dog, upset there’s a dog, or interested in educational purposes - I only respond to people who have positive intentions. In any situation.
And with that, always remember to just, mind your business 💓
