I just want to wish my baby Boy Max a Happy 11th Birthday. I rescued him 9 years ago when he was being kept tied up outside in a home in Puerto Rico. My poor baby was outside even in the rain. Announcing daily "Yappy Hour" at CACC!

Calling all pet lovers! Join us for Yappy Hour, a happy hour event prompting fee-waived adoptions at the Chicago Animal Care and Control for the entire month of November!

Yappy Hour times:
Monday - Friday: 3pm-6pm
Saturday and Sunday: 1pm-4pm

Come meet some adorable dogs and cats, and learn more about the adoption process. All adoptions are fee-waived during Yappy Hour, so it's the perfect time to find your new furry best friend!

Our volunteers and staff will be on hand to answer your questions and help you find the perfect pet for your family. So come on down to Yappy Hour and help us find forever homes for these deserving pets!

Always clean your pets bowls regularly

What's one thing you can do regularly to help keep your pet healthy? Clean their bowls! That slime you feel inside their water bowl is a collection of dead and living organisms that create a glue-like substance called biofilm. 🦠

Some biofilms have been found to be involved in a wide variety of microbial infections in the body, including urinary tract infections, middle-ear infections, and bladder infections. Yuk! So clean your pets' food and water bowls at least once a week, if not daily! 🧼

This is the worst day for pets. If you see a pup being kept outside today, call 311. Be there voice to the voiceless. No animal should be kept outside ever, but even worse on a day like today where they truly feel like they are in a war zone. 💔

Worst time of the year for our pets and us 😞.
Make sure to try and drain out the fireworks noise by turning on radio and a loud fan and setting them up in the quietest part of your home, your dogs will appreciate your effort. Be safe everyone ❤️
