This weekend is supposed to be very cold so here are a few tips for keeping your pup safe and warm!

-If it's too cold for you, it might be too cold for your pup, keep an eye on their tails, legs, paws, noses, and ears. Ears a good indication if they turn red that they are getting too chilly!

-Booties aren't a favorite of most dogs, but they're great to protect against ice and salt. We definitely recommend Ultra Paws and PAWZ rubber boots. If your dog cannot stand them, Musher's Paw, a natural wax, is a good alternative. It is also great to use on very hot days too!

-Jackets aren't only good for style points, especially if your pup has short hair, is small, a puppy or a senior.

Mollie here also advises to stick to the sidewalks, especially for pups as small as her, and enjoys being carried over areas that are just too deep! Although, she understands that some crazy pups like to play in the snow.

Another foster cat is available for adoption! This is Otis, a roughly 1 year old orange tabby that was found with bad back wounds on the south side of Chicago. He is all healed up and his personality has shined through! He's very sweet and playful but loves a good petting session. He will need to be the only animal in the home, as he doesn't seem to like other cats and dogs.

Other notable qualities:
-Loves to play hide and seek and will jump out at you for fun
-Very curious and playful, he will need to check out everything!
-Loves a good nap on your bed, but he needs the whole bed so he can streeetch out

Hope everyone is staying cool! Bernie is here to give you some tips to survive in this hot weather:

-Drink lots of water (making a mess is optional)
-Take breaks in the shade (pets are encouraged)
-Wear sunscreen (even though it doesn't taste very good)
-Don't forget your mask!

Meet the lovely Jasmine! She is currently being fostered with one of our managers and is ready for adoption! Jasmine is a little over a year old so she still has some of that kitten playfulness in her. She’s a little shy and would like a small dark place to use while she adjusts to her new home but once she gets out of her shell Jasmine is very affectionate and just has to be in the same room as you! She’s got a big personality and won’t hesitate to let you know when she’s ready for pets or a treat!

Likes: Feathers, plastic bags, and brushies
Dislikes: Vacuums, waiting for her wet food, and strangers

Jasmine would prefer an owner who is willing to put in the time for her to get comfortable (and take over the home!). She has been around cats before but has only seen dogs from looking out the window!

Social distancing is hard, especially with Robin, but she has fun people/dog watching and sniffing through the fences! We'd like to remind everyone that we are providing walks for people with essential jobs!

Hopefully all of our pups will be back to sniffing all the butts they can soon!

During this shelter in place, a lot of walkers are unable to say hi to their furry friends. So, they've had to improvise.

It's Simba's birthday today! He is 8 years old if you can believe it and has been very busy watching out for squirrels and finding the best sticks! He's expecting lots of love from his owners, but with a face like that he doesn't have to convince them! Happy Birthday!

Waiting for Julie to wash her hands was torture for Ripley! Hel-lo, he has been a good boy and needs a treat! But he guesses it's better safe than sorry, right?

We are following the guidelines of the World Health Organization, Center for Disease Control, federal, state, and local governments to reduce social interaction and clean/disinfect all high traffic areas. Our walkers will be washing hands before and after every single dog walk and using hand sanitizer throughout the day. We are avoiding all social interactions while on walks with other people. Additionally our walkers will not be required to come to the office to pick or drop off keys unless absolutely necessary. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to us!

Today is Poe's birthday! As you can see, he is all ready for his special day and going to make sure he gets all of his parent's attention! His brother, Merv, can certainly join in too, as long as we all remember Poe is 10 years old today! Happy Birthday!
