We are professional dog trainers and have been training dogs since 1978
and we serve Chicago and suburban areas. We offer courses in:

are part of our training. One of the most important concepts we teach our clients is Leadership Skills. Your dog is a pack animal (just like a wolf) and there is a pecking order. If your dog does not see you as the leader of the pack, then they will take that position themselves. This may cause: biting, chewing, rebellion, and/or confusion for your dog. Once your dog sees you as the leader, these problems,
as well as many others, are corrected. Learning Leadership Skills and establishing your alpha status in your dog's mind is crucial to your relationship with your dog

When you let the dog sleep with you
(among other bad communications) you confuse your dog on who's the Pack Leader.
If a person is a good pet owner, they show their dog and commicate leadership, since the dog is a pack animal, and in a pack their is a hierarchy of order.
When they don't, it can cause nervousness to the dog. It can also cause over aggressiveness to others, and also aggressiveness to the owner, because the Alpha Dog at times will use aggressiveness behavior to keep his position.
Owners need to be educated about leadership. To many bleeding hearted weak people do what makes themselves feel good, but do not give their dog what the dog truly needs. Love does what's best for the one being loved.
